Flat tire indicator light flashing but no flat tire?

My flat tire indicator started flashing about an hour ago. I looked in the manual and it says if it is flashing to pull over right away and that if it is solid yellow there is just a malfunction. Well I just went and looked and checked tire pressures and they are all normal. This did happen right after I really gave it some gas from a stop light.

Just throwing that in, it may mena nothing.I also had my brake pads replaced last week.

Any thoughts? I am confused.

Thanks in advance.

Any other lights?

Sometimes if you get wheel spin the flat tire light and the DSC light may come on.

Just my check engine light that has been on for a year due to a code from my header or O2 sensor. Nothing else. I am going to go check again now and see if there is a flat tire.

EDIT: I am very familiar with the DSC light. This one is for sure the flat light indicator.

If you've checked the tires, just reset the TPMS and see if it recurs. In my experience, the light stays on - it doesn't flash. If the reset process (turn key on, hold TPMS button until the light goes out) doesn't work, you may have a wheel sensor issue.

Doublecheck your tire pressures. The sensor will activate if there is a pound or two difference in the psi of one tire compared to the others.

But on an '03 it is just based upon wheel speed comparison. I do agree though to recheck all pressures.

This has happened to me several times after a very quick turn, spinning tires on wet leaves, and other situations. When I reset, the light goes out and no more problems. It's never been a flat tire- Knock on wood!

Thanks for the reply guys. Eric I did what you said ( I didn't even know about the reset option) and all has been well for 2 days. It must have been something to do with the tire rotation.

All the tires are now at spec PSI. Thanks again all!

Good deal. I've had several false positives (and one real one ).
