Need help from someone who has done KD Backtap or something similar...

So far, here is what I have done:

1. Taken off intercooler
2. Removed 1 bracket and loosened another to get access to all the bolts on the crankcase.
3. Disconnected all hoses and wires attached to crankcase
4. Removed crankcase cover.

Now I am stuck... do the long metal sleeves for the spark plugs come out with enough yanking or do I have to remove the f'ing crank

Thanks for the help.

The reason I think those f'ers need to come out is cuz the backtap doesn't reach... It's impossible to tighten that thing with that POS sleeve in the way.

I don't remember taking the sleeve out and didn't have much trouble with it. I did use a long tap wrench.

I assume you looked at the video on http://www.back-tap.com/

It may be time to call them as when we did it, and it was a while ago, it was no problem. If I still had the Backtap here I would go down to look to refresh my memory but alas....

Sorry I can't be more help.

I have seen the video and understand how to use the tool, but I really don't get how you used a tap wrench with it :\

Exactly. Inserted the BackTap, tightened the nut and backed it out cleaning up the threads. We did not have to tighten the tap wrench as once the threads were engaged it was self lifting. What I don't remember is how we tightened the knurl but frankly it didn't seem to be an issue at the time.

Welp, it doesnt seem like the backtap is working... I got it in there today and actually got it tightened, but the thing just isn't working So, I resorted to trying to take out that stupid spark plug tube to get a better look at what was down there...

key word... TRYING!! I have got hard to remove things out before, but this thing is damn near impossible. The tube is now all shredded up and still stuck in there and not budging. Looks like it's time to call in the pro's and get myself a helicoil
