Thanks Scoobs. Just installed a Green filter yesterday and it does help. Smoother starts and the engine sounds like it is revving a lot easier. I'm very happy with it.
I have the CVT.

>>Actually to add to your debating problems, a drop-in K&N would be just as easy to install as a drop-in green filter. The K&N air intake would be a little harder but both companies have a drop-in filter.

The K&N took me 10 minutes to install, and I was probably spending half that time reading the instructions, which was simple enough. I believe the green filter is a foam type filter while the K&N filter is a gauze type. I've read somewhere that the foam type filters air a little better, but the gauze type is more durable. You can't go wrong with either.

Zgokart, I noticed you didn't say how it affected your performance. What type of MINI do you have (MC, CVT, MCS) also--just curious? Care to comment  .
