We have some regular business to attend to and we also need to discuss the upcoming calendar of events.

These meetings are open to the membership.

Since I didn't jump on the St. Louis County's Library Meeting Room list, the meeting is going to be at my house!

Sounds great. I talked to Tony the sales manager over at Mini of St. Louis today and he is looking to be more active with the club this year. he told me he has settled into his job now and wants to get more active with the events the club does so stay in touch with him when there are things coming up.

I picked up a Ipod Nano that I got free for purchasing my MINI before the end of the year and now I'll have to look at getting a Ipod adaptor.

I am looking forward to doing some MINI stuff with y'all (I just joined the St. Louis MINI club a few days ago). I have been MINI-less for over a month now (Lucy is in transit, should arrive in a week or two) and I am going through serious withdrawal ... especially since I have to drive my brother's Ford Explorer.

Errr ... let me introduce myself and Lucy ... I have just gotten out of the Navy (12 years of service). I bought Lucy in Honolulu in June 2003. We transferred to England in October 2004, and last month I got out of the Navy and I have moved back home to Quincy, IL. I have a few pics of Lucy posted in my NAM gallery, if you care to see what she looks like.

I participated in MINI/BMW events in Hawaii, and also did some autocross there. I was in the New MINI Severns club in the UK and did lots of fun stuff there, and now I've joined the St. Louis MINI club! As you can imagine, I have quite a collection of MINI t-shirts. All the MINI folks I've met in both Hawaii and the UK were great people, and I'm looking forward to meeting all the nice MINI folks in the St. Louis club.

Welcome home I look forward to meeting you at our events I too had the honor of meeting many of the Hawaii MINI folks in May 2003. Welcome Angel, you'll have to give us some of the "British" versions of MINI events/social hours. I spent a month in GB back in '75 and 3 yrs in Germany but that was before I even knew what a MINI was. Motor On, Dan

 

British versions of MINI events involved nice pubs, occasionally some castles and historic ruins, and driving on the left side of narrow, twisty English country roads with lots of other MINI Coopers, most of which had their steering wheel on the wrong side of the car. There were also occasional trips to the continent for more driving on narrow twisty country roads (like the Nurburgring, for example, or Passo del Stelvio), only on the right side of the road, with lots of grumbling about how stupid the French are (regardless of which country one was driving through at the time).

I was wondering ... do y'all use two-way radios when you go on MINI runs? We used them in Britain (with everyone tuned to the same channel) and it made staying together a lot easier if we got split up, allowed the drivers in front to warn others about road hazards, etc. Also made it more fun.
