July 17th, 2004 – Auto Detailing Tips and Tricks
Hey MINI lovers, this is an event you don't want to miss! I bet you didn't know that YOU were your cars worst enemy! Yes, most damage, wear and tear is caused by the owner improperly maintaining his or her car. Learn how to do it right. Discover ways to keep your car detailed to perfection. Try a myriad of different products and tools. Learn useful tips and tricks that earn awards at concours events or simply make your car stand out in a crowd.
Viking Car Care, a St. Louis based manufacturer of automotive detailing products, is opening up it's indoor facility for our use. Our host, Geoff Tolsdorf, is an employee of Viking and member of the St. Louis BMW club.
The following is his letter of invitation. RSVP's would be MUCH appreciated so we can have a handle on space needed, food, etc. Let me know by signing in on the thread below and I will forward your name to Viking.

Larry, gimme a buzz later this week if you want to motor over there together. Brad, i made hulk espically dirty.
He hasnt been washed since saturday and wont be untill this saturday.
Work, & the bloody heat keeps me from cleaning him sometimes.
The drive made him espically dirty this past saturday. He's aching for a cleanin, and trust me, he's excited for saturday. The worst part is me driving around with a dirty mini, I HATE IT! You say bring a dirty mini and thats what ill be doing.
See ya saturday!

Sorry I missed it
Sorry I missed it
, I ended up going to the hopital Friday morning
which was my birthday
sounds like a bad novel I know but true and staying there until Monday night. If anyone was there, I would like to know how it went.
P.S. I am doing better and looking forward to burning up a litte track at the Phil Wicks drive school this week-end.

Bummer!
Sounds serious. Glad you are out and hopefully doing well.
The event was an absolute blast! Sorry you missed it. There was an impressive MINI showing. Viking had great facilities. They supplied all attendees with literally a bucket load of detailing supplies like microfiber towels, brushes, detailing tools, quick detailer, vinyl dressing and more. Snacks, drinks and lunch was provided. We washed, clayed, buffed and detailed cars until after 2PM. After some brief lectures along the way, everbody got into it at their own pace and could get as hands-on as they liked with as much or little instruction as they needed. They had hundreds of detailing supplies for us to demo. We are sure to do it again in the future.
See you at Gateway.

Glad to hear that this event was a success! A big thanks to Brad for putting it together, that's two awesome events under your belt!
I'll see you guys Saturday. It should be fairly cool (for STL) and good track conditions. BTW, we will have 1 Ferraris in the novice group and the rest in the intermediate group, so we will be running with them the whole time. How cool!
