Let the mods begin
On March 14th, Waylen from Way Motor Works will be in Saint Louis to perform performance improvements to member’s cars.
When you want mod work done on your car, it should be done by a Certified MINI Technician. Waylen is the man you want working for you. His home base is Indianapolis, but his moniker should be “HAVE WRENCH WILL TRAVEL”
We are very lucky to have him come to town, contact him thru his web site to set up your appointment to have him improve your car.

Mod Event Update
I am happy to announce that the Mod event will be held at Mark Parafiniuk's CLEAR AUTO BRA, LLC located at 180 E. Kirkham Road, in Webster Groves. Mark has always gone out of his way to help out the club and let us use his facility when ever we need it. And in case you haven't heard, Mark and his wife, Monika, have just added an 09 Cooper S to their fleet. Bet it has a Clear Bra already!
Sign up with Waylen now to get in the que to have your work done. Space is limited.
Cheers,

I have been in contact with Waylen..... I thought I would take advantage of his experience and install TSW springs, H-sport sway bar and rear camber links. Call me crazy...as they are going on my 2009 JCW MINI.
Mark (Clear bra) - see ya again this Saturday
Waylen (WMW)- looking forward to meeting you
I hear Waylen will be working on other MINIs...coil-over syspension going on somebody's MINI...
Waylen may have other products to sale and install if people desire.

I doubt Waylen will check this thread. You better call him: 317-201-8670
pardon my ignorance.....
I read talk of a heat shield on turbo models and that Mini has not addressed the reason that people are putting them on.
Could someone please elaborate?
Thanks!

Poco no longer just growls from his Way/DDM intake, he now roars from his new Megan exhaust I got from Way
, with a nice burble also, when you get off his throttle
Got the turbo heat shield on the Clubman, but no clouds smoke
, just little whifs
.
Waylen, thanks for all your help, (he can get his fingers into the most cramped spaces
), things went much smoother knowing you were there while I was doing them
From now on, I will never remove a bolt/nut without first soaking it for days in WD-40
. Nothing so bad a wood shim did not fix temporarily
Way, it's always great watching you work, especially on multiple cars at once
. Thanks for letting us get dirty, learn from you, and just hang-out
And a special thanks to Mark, for letting us use his shop for the day
. Only 120k for that Maserati,eh

.The stock heat shield does nothing more than prevent you from getting 3rd degree burns if you happen to touch the turbo. But in an instant you will get 2nd degree burns from the shield. After I installed Waylen's heat shield, I was able to hold my hand on the shield, with the motor hot, and running. The turbo is designed for high heat, the plastic parts around it are not.

THANKS WAYLEN AND MARK
Thanks to Waylen, there is a new group of "Hot Rod" MINIs running around Saint Louis. Always good to see Way and his work is outstanding. Everyone had a great time and learned a lot. Mark, thank's for the use of your "Clear Bra Garage", it made the event happen, it was a long day, but worth it. And last but not least, thanks to Dave White for bringing us some norishment to the "Hot Rod" gang.
Way, best of luck with you move to Atlanta!!!!!
Cheers,

No problem on using the shop. Any time you need it, just let me know. And if you do not ask, I will offer...
We are a bunch of RESPONSIBLE big kids playing with cars. I know I do not have to worry even with the poor man's Ferrari
and the ACR sitting around.
Also, thanks to Doug for installing the rear view camera (aka little eyes on the COOPER S badge) on our new MCS.
It was fun.

Lots of talk, since they launched the 2nd Gen, 3 model years ago, but none from MINI, other than to replace melted scopes
.
