Is everybody staying dry???
Is everybody staying dry???
I cannot believe this rain!

Has anyone had bad times during this downpour? Hopefully not. Especially all you new MCC owners! We need the rain, but this is more like Washington than sunny SoCal!
Hey - stay dry out there, and watch those big puddles!

Be grateful it's only rain.
LOL!!! We DO need the rain, but geez, in small portions please!!!
We've had no car related water issues but the yard - well - a few broken flower pots and one big muddy mess in the back since Mike is still in the process of putting in a pond and waterfall....yikes - it's a mess....
And I hear there's more wet stuff coming....stay safe everybody!!!

even more rain tonight...
We drove from Napa to LA on Monday night. Driving the grapevine in a torrential downpour is not recommended. The rain was so loud I could barely hear the HK stereo at 75% volume. Visibility was about 35' except for tail lights. I was never so glad to have the rear fog lights and tail light mod.
I have driven through rain before but never 4 hours of heavy downpour. Took 2.5 hours longer to get home in the storm then it took getting to Napa.

from posts of yester-year, I seem to remember that there is an engine devouring event that follows going through large puddles, "hydrosealing"? where any water that makes it into the intake can develope into total engine failure,so watch out all you californians out there.

All good for me. I actually like driving in the rain, it makes things more interesting. Fortunately between Xmas and New Year's is The Week Without Traffic. If we had this rain during a normal week my commute would take forever, and I would be very cranky.
I didn't see any accidents all week - until this morning when it was dry and someone somehow ended up on their roof on 805 North. It was pretty well cleaned up by the time I passed it around 9, but the lookee-loos were keeping traffic backed up.

Hydrolocking...is not a good thing.
BTW, it hailed this morning in S.F. and rained all night long with high winds.
I understand SoCal is clear today but the storm is heading down South. Enjoy the sun while you can!

We drove to Monterey in a continous downpour this past Monday. Checked the engine compartment a couple of times to see where the water was getting and it stayed dry every where except for the cowl area.

Our neighbors are quite anxious for us to finish it also - as they tell us they are quite fond of listening to trickling water...
