After tracking the development of the Mini since it's inception and 5 test drives later I plunked down my $1000.00 at John Roberts Mini in Dallas for a dark silver/black roof that should be here mid febuary.I got all 3 packages,auto dim,leather and HK. I was thinking about JCW kit seriously but was happy with the performance as is for now and thought I would enjoy modding the car myself over time and feeling each improvement as I go.My Mini consultants name was Christian and he has been a real nice guy and very helpful,glad I got a good salesperson,very important to me. Anyway there was a young woman there that worked in the service department that was taking their new mascot for a walk...a little bulldog,both the dog and the girl were very cute.I pet the dog but I did'nt pet the girl...lol I'm ready to motor!

Its worth the wait. It took me 8 weeks from the time I ordered mine to delivery in May. Yes, mine has the stumble, but despite that I love the car and am happy with my choice. I have faith that eventually they will fix the problem. Even if they don't its a heck of a blast to drive. My friends thought I was stepping down when I sold my 911 Porsche for the S. They just don't get it, the MINI S is more fun!

I paid my deposit on July 12th in San Antonio and I'll be picking up Madeline sometime in November!

It's very exciting tracking the status of the production and shipping of the car!!

 

I've been looking at the car for quite some time now so I think I can handle the long wait ok...I have also been collecting Mini stuff on ebay for a while,all kinds of stuff...you name it...If it's Mini related I have one...lol.
I have no good exscuse for not taking a picture of the dog and the girl cause my digital camera was in my car at the time and if it was'nt a 2 hour drive I would go back right now and do it.I think I got caught up in the moment of ordering a new Mini which in reality took all of 5 minutes cause I had the cashiers check in hand,I meant to take some pictures of something while I was there...I swear...lol.I took about a dozen CD's with me this time to justify the HK system,although I knew I was gonna order it anyway...sounds fine to me although I did'nt play it very loud at all cause I was inside the dealership...I'll probably just add a JL Audio 8" or 10" sub and call it done.I had a hard time with the roof color but decided on black for now cause it somewhat hides the sunroof and matches alot of the trim pieces...I may decide to make it body color but I doubt it,my saleperson says I have a couple weeks to change anything on the order...Anyway,I knew i wanted a Cooper about 15 seconds after I sat in one...and that was before the test drive...absolutley fantastic car...I love it!
