I agree, be persistent! When I had my old Jeep Wrangler, there was a similar waving culture... It made me happy. When I get my Clubman, I'll be continuing with that. (although, as I've learned in another thread, not all MINI owners are happy about the new addition to the family. They probably don't wave to begin with.) I'm glad there are a few of you out there who have resisted the LA/OC cultural habit of unfriendly behavior. I hope I pass you someday so I can wave!

 

I got a wave from a PW R56 yesterday. I was getting on the 405 and he was getting off at Cherry. He passed in front of me and I flashed my lights, he waved. I was amazed.

Pulled up along side a Grey R56 this morning with tinted windows and waved
. Who knows if they saw me or what they did.

 

I found myself behind this MINI (not mine) on a flatbed on my way to work this morning (south on the 133 in Irvine). Hope it's nothing serious.

Got a wave yesterday from a CR/W Cooper on the 22E.

But numbness from a S/B MCS on the 405N this morning. 50% ain't bad.

 

Got a wave from a PW Cooper this morning around 9AM on the 405N near Jefferson. He looked about as miserable as I did in that traffic. lol

 

Got a wave from a green MCS on 405s tonight just after 10 fwy.

haha. Or maybe telling me to go away. Tinted windows makes it hard to tell.

You might be giving somebody a wave while they just want to change lanes, but you're too busy riding next to them.

Hopefully that doesn't happen. Or I'll look like a moron.

 

No waves as these were just parked - last night in Del Mar - in the Bully's parking lot - Silver/Black MCS.... on the street in front of Bully's - Pure Silver MC with St. Louis Cardinals License plate frame on the rear.

Today - 5 South about 7:00 am - got on at Carmel Valley - PW/B MC with a roof rack - I waved - you didn't ....blond ponytail with Sunglasses - I think you got off at the Sea World exit.

Saw my first Clubman yesterday at the 3rd St. Promenade at around 4:30. PW/B. Very nice! Surprisingly, it is still very MINI .. just a bit taller.

 

Whaaa? was it on display or is there some very lucky so.cal. bigwig with an "advance copy" showing it off somewhere?

Weird.. what plates are those? I remember when the R56 first came out Dave and I saw one of the press cars parked over at one of the Promenade lots as well..

 

Good observation, but I'm not sure on the plates. Production hasn't official started yet right?

 

Saw a CR/checkered top and mirror caps, white 5-spoke wheels, and aftermarket tail lights today getting off of 405 to Venice/Washington Blvd Exit at 1pm today. Driver was a purdy blonde female. Anyone??

 

Production has started, but they dont officially go on sale until Feb. 16. Mine should be here then! I hope I hope I hope...

 

Spotted a Pure Silver MCS with a Kompressor badge with aftermarket tails and driving lights near the 10E/405 interchange.

On Monday.. spotted a HB/W MCS with a lot of decals.. going South on Sepulveda. Kindda reminded me of Fireball Tim's car.. except I think his is electric blue.

 

Forgot to mention there's an apartment close to the Ross on Sepulveda that has two MINIs parked next to each other. One 07 blue/white and another brg/white. I see you guys everyday!

 

Tonight on the 91 East spotted an MCS DS/checkered top, had a center stripe, and painted arches. A bit later got passed by a PS/B MCS. I was stuck behind a car going between 55 and 57 mph, in the fast lane, with nobody in front of them, frustrating.

 

A few days i got into a short conversation with a R56 owner. Lightning blue I believe... Anyone on here?

I saw a sliver cabrio with black top heading up Camino de Estrella in Capo Beach a couple of days ago with a big number 3 on the doors. I would have waved, but I was on foot. Does anyone know who has a big #3 on their ride?

 

I was driving my husband's LB/B 07 MC home from Santa Ana on Wed., and I saw a British Racing Green Mini with a personalized plate. He followed me off and on for about 30 miles until I slowed down in Oceanside. I saw him get off at Palomar Airport Road, right near In & Out. It looked like an 05 ? It looked great! I drive a 07 CB/B MC C.
