Saw a blue (don't ask me which)/W MCS with a rack on Santa Fe in Encinitas a day or two ago. Only the CHMSL worked - your other brake lights were out.

There was a newer PW MC a couple cars ahead of me at the Via de la Valle/Jimmy Durante intersection around 9 this morning. Had double black boot stripes, and it looked like it had a white roof (must have been a trick of the light?).

Saw a DS MCS on 805 North yesterday morning. Driver didn't wave or even look over at me. I've seen him before and gotten the same cold shoulder.

If there is a leading candidate for Least Likely To Wave, I'd say a male driving a DS MCS. What is it with you guys in the Dark Silver MCSs anyway? You think you're better than the rest of us or something?! Huh? Is that it?

You know what? I see the SAME DS/B w/Black stripes in Del Mar all the time - and he NEVER waves.....I wave like crazy EVERY time I see him - hoping that ONE OF THESE DAYS - he'll get the idea - LOL!!!

hollis3 and Strom: Tell your DS friends to wave, too (I know you all have secret DS MINI Club meetings).

I'm probably just jealous because I wish I would have gone for DS instead of PW.

haha - i wish. i can't get most ds/b to wave back either. one drives by every day and ignores...

we had a group of 5 MINIs in a line on the 15 N. near 76. A b/b MCS drove past us all... nothing...

That seems to be the way things are going these days.

Fortunately, there are still bright spots: There is an 05 PW/B MC that I have seen several times now on my way home, south on 805, and she and I always wave to each other.

And last month I waved to a CR/W MC in my neighborhood, she waved back and turned out to live in the house next door to my apartment building. If only she would have talked to me before she bought her MINI she could have gotten a new, out-of-state MC for the same price she paid for her used Brecht MC. Oh well, at least I have another waver in the neighborhood.

Just a little over a hour ago while I was on one of my daily fun drives after class:smile: I saw a DS/B 05 with black wheels with a polished lip. There was a lady driving and her young son was in the passanger seat, I waves to them and they both waved back. Maybe there is still some hope for the DS/B's

Spotted a PW MC with pink bonnet stripes on the 405 while driving visiting the Long Beach area on business yesterday. The co-workers driving with me were *ahem* bemused when I stuck my hand out the window and gave the "MINIKTY" a . The MINIKTY didn't respond to the friendly wave from the driver of the rented mini... van.

And BTW my co-workers only reminded me that I was driving a minivan rather than my MINI once, when I was driving on a circular on-ramp.

Well, this seems the best place to tell my 'spotting' story, only it was me that was spotted, but not by someone driving a MINI.

Last Monday, I was driving through Del Mar and got stopped at a light, one I was making a U-turn at. Just as the light turned green, I spot someone on foot in my rear view mirror right behind me holding something up towards the car. Reminded me of my Dad years ago when he used a light meter before taking pictures.

As I swung around I saw him jump into a pickup. Then I realized what he had done - taken a picture of the back of my car with a cell phone camera.

Either he was mad at me for something, but I don' think I had been driving like an idiot. Maybe it was the plate and frame. My plate reads "DBCUUPR", and the custom frame says "Trivia Test - Did You Pass?"

I'm wondering if I'm going to be hearing more about this...

10/13/05 DS MCS spotted on the 710 south around 415 to 420ish pm. You had a Assael Plate frame. You followed me for quite a while and I took 10 east and u took 10 west.

I past you once and you passed me once I looked over at you BOTH times waiving but you didnt look over once to waive.

Prob not here on the board too then but oh wells... might as well document it.

Your rear end is probably posted on some "clever license plates" website now. I'd take it as a compliment!

BTW, I think your photographer passed....

The CBS news at five last night had someone's CR/W with white bonnet stripes in the background of a story. They were talking with a psychiatrist in Pasadena outside his office and there was the MINI just looking so nice!

Now that you mention it, the other night, one of the news channels was televising a (low speed) cop chase in San Pedro. The perp drove right by another parked CR/W.

I was dissed in Descanso yesterday, when I waved to a young guy wearing a baseball cap in a silver MINI with black bonnet stripes. I'm not upset he didn't wave, but it would've made my day if he had.

I would be happy to wave but it seems like others don't feel the same way. I will always remember the first day I had my car some kind soul in a CR/W MINI waved to me when I was coming out of the River's End parking lot (1st Street Beach parking lot). Sometimes I wave, other times it just does not seem approiate. People seem to be in their own little world.

I think I've finally trained some of the MINI drivers in my area. They're starting to wave back.
