I went to big bear today and took my 2 year old nephew to the Discovery center on the north side. i found a CR/w MINI with the plates "MINIPKG" (i hope i remembered that right) I was parked next to if for about 2 hours while we went hiking today

Dear Girl in the Indi Blue MINI:

For a few months now, we turn onto the same street twice a week going to the same place for work and school. I used to wave profusely at you you but you never wave back. I still attempted to make eye contact to no avail. Not wanting to be the "Creepy Guy in a MINI" I have stopped waving or making eye contact.

spotted a few minis at the dromo cart track in anaheim today, i was in my my GFs Lexus tho...

 

I've only gotten two "wave backs" since I picked up my mini on October 1st :(

I drive around Covina and Whittier...and points in between.

 

OOOO maybe i'll spot you since i have to drive on the 605-105-405 now.

 

I'll keep an eye out!

 

Be persistent. I get maybe 1 in 10 to wave back. :wave:

 

I wave or flash my lights ALWAYS hoping they'll get the reminder hint-if not, they'll wonder why I was greeting them & may think about it a bit more

I had my first "race" today. I guy in a new stock civic raced me off the line. I think you all know what the results were. I am getting the feeling that a lot of people don't know how quick these cars are.

 

especially modded MCs...

this kid in one of those new Civic Si was egging on me a few days ago.. revving and stuff..

needless to say, the Civic looked cute in my rear view mirror.

 

I don't think there are many MINI owners who frequent NAM in my area, but FWIW, I'm generally on my commute at some point on the 125fwy in La Mesa-Santee (San Diego)...And very often am on the 8 as well as the 94...so if anyone sees my laser blue/black let me know!

I know I always see an astro black mini I think it is darth vadered-out with a lady driving...she always waves at me. There are some others in my area including one stick-in-the-mud who drives a purple haze.... But I still wave at you all!

 

My new route to work has alot more MINIs. And i wave at all of them as i fly by.

I had a black MCS fly by me in the 210 tuesday night around 8:30pm. I cought up to him and we gave thumbs ups.

But ya,,,, i just wave as i pass. I dont tend to slow down to see if they wave back.

Saw "MINI VIE" yesterday.

 

I'm in your area. However I usually don't stray too far from the North Park/Hillcrest/Mission Valley/Quallcom area. If you see me, I'll wave.

The black MINI might be a girl from our club. Does her plate say "I (wave) back" where the (wave) is that little hand? If so, its her. Don't know about the PH one though, but I do know we have a few sticks in the mud around here.

 

Too funny....if you see a LY/LY around CSUSB M,W and Sat, and she doesn't wave, let me know and I'll take my car keys back

I don't think her plate says that, I would have remembered that plate for sure! I know she has a lot of badges and stickers...so I'll try and remember them so I can post next time I see her.

Also, on my drive up to LA last weekend I saw a chili red with a guy driving that was in the exit lane on the 5 (I have no idea where I was at this point, probably around anaheim) and I was in the fast lane around 8:30pm, I rolled my windows down in the freezing cold on the freeway to wave, and he actually waved back! Thanks, guy!

Description: Red Cooper Cabrio, Chrome Interior/Exterior package; plate: "E TIKKET" (or something like that)

(Parked, no driver).

 

Today, in the city of Ventura, my wife and I both passed (at different times in different cars) a BRG R56 Justacooper with white racing stripes, checkered side scuttles, and some kind of Obama sticker on the back window (at least, I thought it was an Obama sticker). It passed me on Johnson Drive as I was going under the 101 freeway. The driver was a woman who looked to be in her mid-20's.

I was driving the Laser Blue on Black R56 S that still has Bob Smith Mini plates.

Anyway, it was fun because it was the first MINI I have seen while motoring in my new MINI. Unfortunately, I don't think the driver saw me. Oh well.

 

I have seen many MINI's since I got mine, 10/25, no body ever waves!!
