Big Willow June 21 & 22, 2008

Here is one of the events I am planning to run. Big Willow Open Track day. The cost is $200/day and I will most likely run Saturday. One of the options is T running Saturday and me running Sunday or vise versa. Unless we get a good turn out of Minis on the same day.

Coincidentally Red Line will be running SOW on the 21st the same weekend.

Anyway, here is the link:

http://www.opentrackracing.com/

Just go to the events link. I have never ran Big Willow, but there is a BMW CCA school 3 weeks prior on so I should get some seat time on that track. Just an FYI in case others are interested.

I hope some RMW cars can make it and break some more "magical" barriers!

Thanks for the heads-up.

I might be interested.. What are the details? Do I need to have track tires also? Will this wear out my stock breaks quick? Do we run a time attack or door to door? I really want to see what my stock MCS can do and then when I add things like sway bar and coil overs I can appreciate the difference. For you all that have done this before give us details.

Hey Jerry, Redline is also having a weekend at SOW in a couple of weeks (Feb 9th). I'm going just for pics. You know anyone else that'll be there?

Paul, are you going on the 9th?
I'm supposed to hook up with Jan for pix that day. (I hope it doesn't rain.)

Hey Juan,

Yeah, we have a bunch of cars showing up. I am counting 8 cars and 9 drivers. See you there.

A quote from the guys running it:

"Open Track Racing is not wheel to wheel racing. Our events are designed to improve your driving and car control skills -- to bridge the gap between the driver's capabilities and the car's. All types of vehicles are allowed, from stock to wildly modified, and run groups are divided so that you're sharing the track with cars running similar lap times."

Just follow the link in the OP and contact the event organizers for more details.

lets keep up the interest in this type of event for socal. I should have my suspension mods complete by this event ! I haven't Ran Willow since I gave up my GSXR 7 years ago. Looking forward to sweaty palms and thumping heart thrills.
