Anyone been to service dept. in Mini of Alexander imports?
I have nothing but fantastic things to say about Alexander Mini.
I'm not sure if you read about my horrific experience at Universal City Mini.
Long story short, my car had a defective cylinder head and a bad temp sensor and although it only had 5-6k miles on it, they were trying to blame the engine failure on me even though it had been there before for the problems I was having and they couldn't find the problem...until the motor died
At that point I was given a myriad of (nonsensical and untrue) reasons why it had to be my fault. The funny thing is that Universal didn't even know that it had a bad cylinder head or temp sensor - that was Nick Alexander's diagnosis - Universal wouldn't even tear down the motor to diagnose why the motor was broken without me shelling out 3k(!) of my own money (keep in mind the car is still under warranty).
Anyway, I spent $120 bucks out of pocket to have the car towed to Nick Alexander (at the recommendation of a fellow NAMer - thanks Mark!) and it was the best $120 bucks I have ever spent.
While I had to repeatedly call to get ahold of people just to get updates on my situation at Universal City Mini, I never had to call Nick Alexander once - they did a great job of keeping me updated (and were super courteous to boot). Their work was fantastic, and my Mini performed flawlessly on my weekend road trip to the Bay Area.
Talk to Hector over at NA Mini. You'll be happy you did!
Also - in response to Alpha Motoring's recommendation - my sister purchased her R56 MC at Assael and had her servicing done there. I've read on NAM that Assael had issues in the past but she seemed to be happy with her service so I'm assuming they've taken care of whatever problems they may have had. :0)
