Special License plates
Ever wonder what some of those odd license plates are about? Or which are available? Or how to get them?
Here's a government site explaining it all.
Now, I have sent an email to the NCDOT asking how to go about getting a new Special Interest plate/design. Can you guess what for? Who would pay an extra $10 a year for one?

Hey PC,
If I remember correctly all you need in 300 people, (read it somewhere) and your cost is off just a bit. The charge will be a minimum of $30 above the normal cost of $20. Some plates cost more.
I just went back to a normal plate this year due to the price increase. Although it was only $10 bucks more then last year, I'm buying plates for 5 cars and have them all come due at the same time so I couldn't justify the extra cost.

Depends on the plate Smokey. Some plates, like the Carolina Hurricanes one, are only $10 extra per year. Others are more and part of the money goes to a special fund like the Friends of the Great Smokey Mountains ($30 more per year).
No way we can get 300 people in NC interested. I doubt there are that many MINIs in NC.
