R53 vs. Acura RSX

Not sure if it was any context but a rsx came up the in ramp and waited forms to catch up all to start racing without giving the signal. I kept up with him but couldn't pass him. I'm convinced it was no contest considering a 03 MCS 1.6l with stick and a CAI Is only 170bhp maybe vs te acuras 210 motor. Or is it a matter of low end torque vs. high end? Clutch work was spot in and we started racing at about 60mph on. Oh the discouragement.

once VTEC kicks in, it is hard to beat K20 motor.

So really it was no contest. I drove my buddy's civic si with vtech and was impressed aside if the fact that they take a while to spool up. It's funny how so many people make fun of vtech but it's pretty serious stuff. What upgrade would increase my top end? Everyone goes for a smaller pulley but that can't be all right? Regardless, the mini isn't a speed racer car, if I wanted that I'd get a subaru or something.

Your top end power would be headers, pulley, a tune by RMW, and good suspension. Tell him to meet you on the track, you'll eat him up then;-). I just get annoyed with young high schoolers and their ignorance about other cars then their vtecs. At least that's how it's portrayed here in MI. But I love muscle cars and turbos mainly. But I do admire the R53 supercharged engine! I agree about the Subaru STi or Mits EVO. Lovely rally cars!

I'm 25 and came from a muscle car (Mopar) background and entered into the Small engine euro in November so a lot of this tuning business is still new to me. I've heard tons about rmw so if I ever get my car to that point I'll be sure to work with them. Since I live in the Bay Area I may even try bay bridge motors for tuning. They're th guys that built the TWINI car.

Oh boy well then you already know lol. Mopar is obviously insane with some of their cars. Here people need to realize that 1st gens and 2nd gens aren't made for straight line so if that's what your looking for, your going to have to put a lot of money into your R53. But if you decide to go with a tune on your R53, Jan is the best for that. He's been 50/50 on 2nd gens. But he'll get you the most power and still give you reliability too.

This section of the forum is for discussion of legal, sanctioned racing. Not street "racing". There is no section for street racing, because such content is prohibited by this and almost all other forums. No one has jumped on you because this section is buried and lightly viewed. I don't care, but be warned.

Sorry for the ignorance. It wasn't my intention to crash the party with prohibited content. I had an experience, a drag race which yes, I get isn't considered racing, but I wanted some input in the outcome.
