ABF JCW R56 nearly smashes SOW record with a 1.27.691
Just had word from Hubie who is currently at Streets of Willow that they have just run the JCW R56 and run a best of 1.27.691, what makes this accomplisment even more amazing is that this wasn't on Hoosier Slicks but on Yokohama AD08 DOT 180 wear approved street tires, this was in the first session of the day.

don't you actually have to beat the record before it's smashed?
ROFLMAO
but still a good time....
Flanery holds the record with a 1:26 on the same tires
and 234hub hp

Show us a link to that record that proves it
Because all I can find is your inaccurate references here;

And as you can see there is no 1.26.xxx noted in the above

Great turn out at the event, I believe 11 Mini's representing!
One lone R56.... thanks Tim for coming out!
Great time by all and superb driving by Sean Patrick Flanery
Sean was running 1:28s in the RMW equipped car with tune running the fastest ever times in a Mini (drove it there and drove it home not a race car)
Sean had clocked 1:27s in the first with better tires. Some of us got to ride around the track as passengers and it was simply amazing.
I clocked my best in my GP today of 1:29 grabbing my goal of going sub 1:30
I guess it doesn't hurt to have 255whp and 210 ft lbs of torque
(wonder what Sean could do with this? )
It was great seeing many different car owners running over to the paddocks to check out the FASTEST Mini's they have seen on a track.
I know an Lotus Elise owner who said he had it to the floor when I went by him on the straight away. Took one look at the car and said... " I know it looks stock.... but that car AINT stock!!"
Again, we are looking for others to show us what you can do.... Dec 14th is coming.....

Flanery said he ran a 1:26, I don't doubt it, he ran 1:27s with me in the car.
doesn't matter anyway.... I already smashed the 1:27 barrier weeks ago
I did that with the back end bottoming out and cutting through the rear tires (had wrong length springs on the car)
No pro driver needed
Here is a post from Mike@Mynes: kinda interesting don't you think?
Case in point: when we ran the stock JCW with Yoko AD08 tires and Eibach springs (not tuned at the time), it did 1.32...
The same driver then jumped into his R53 with tuned, head work, coilover suspension, Wilwood kit, sway bars and ran a 1.33...

ok... so your pro driver in a car with a HEAD/TUNE, COILOVERS, BRAKES can't even break 1:30?
HOW FAST WILL A PRO DRIVER DRIVE MY CAR?

Just got back from the track. The car was driven to and from the track. Time was run on Yokohama AD08 street tires. This car is on stock shocks with MegaMini Springs, Open exhaust after the cat, custom MegaMini intercooler, MegaMini Intake, MegaMini diet, OS Giken super lock LSD, OS Giken racing clutch, and a Mynes Performance tune. The car looked great and seemed well planted. I'll post a video soon.

Good Job guys, Car looks like a Mess in the video though. Lots of On and off throttle, not making good use of the diff with all that understeer. Looks like a fair amount of time left in sorting it out. We've got a short track around here like that. Takes a pretty different setup to put a quick lap in.
Entertaining. A 136 whp Nissan Attempting to drift the track and running a 1:34.

Uh, I never had a Failure on my car all year. I had it shut down on me once which we found as a blown fuse. Never popped the fuse again. I don't understand where that statement came from. I kept expecting to blow an axle as I've seen them blow them in Showroom Stock Trim. But it never let go, just a matter of time I figure.

Unless you can prove it, it doesnt count, end off.
Saying you run a 1.27 Jan and proving it is another matter, the fastest you've gone is a 1.28.5XX again this is the number we have to accept because its the only offical number we can find
You must be really pleased that your mega money / hp 2.0 TVS GP can keep up with a JCW R56 with a toon around SOW

It has opened my eyes to the JCW R56 thats for sure, I was impressed I run a 14.6 out of one with 1500mls on it in a head wind.
I keep nagging Emma about getting one for her and I'm slowly winning the battle

Paul...... so now Danny and I are pro drivers?
why is it that I ran 1:28 on my 5th track day ever? 1:30 on 2nd track day ever? Yet your PRO driver can't do it in a R53?
you keep spouting hp numbers around here like it matters more than driving @ SOW......
Susan went 1:31 on just a pulley and tune in a R53........ I'm still baffled you went that slow in a stock JCW R56 at 1:32
and for your PRO driver to only run 1:33 with all those parts on a R53 , something isn't adding up...........

We have never mentioned the driver only what the car has acheived yesterday, get over it and get yourself booked in so we can see what you or your chosen pro driver can acheive instead of winging and whining, Maybe its the wake up call you need that to show your parts / conversions off you actually need a Pro driver to drive your car, otherwise your parts / conversions will always look lame against this R56 JCW, I mean what is it going to run with the Stage 2 stuff on .........................
Still waiting for the link for Seans 1.26.xxx and now your 1.27.xxx from a couple of weeks ago.

.
consider yourself lucky. Some of us weren't so lucky. Quality parts don't involve a roll of the dice.
search. its been covered....RMW shorty headers and failures of the flex joint (plus CEL's). Add my own experience with bad parts from RMW right from the start (race header incorrectly welded, ruined O2 sensor, melted bumper from improper fitment...on and on).

put someone in the car with 5 track days and see what they run Paul...
then get back to me
