As TMR says grow up Jan, you change like the wind does, do you think we're going to comply to the Jan rule book off finding someone who has run 5 track days to drive the car, where the hell did you come up with that one?

Hey Ian your National Championship doesn't count anymore because you didn't have someone who had only done 5 track days at each event you enetered your Mini for, I think I've heard them all now Does the Jan rule book sit neatly on the desk next to the Jan excuse book

Why do I need to get back to you you need to get back to me when you've run a 26

If I remember right you said "No one dare go to SOW" hate to tell you this but someone has and on there secound outing they've taken the record off you.

So you better get some lessons booked or you might find someone to go 50-50 with you on a Pro driver, In fact with all your racing contacts in the Mini world you must have loads off drivers wanting to do you a favour

I mean its not like they were on SLICKS like you use, hell it might even gone in the 26s on slicks as it is.

DONT HATE THE PLAYER HATE THE GAME CALLED TRACK RECORDS

Nice Our buddy who just got rid of his Mini in favor for a Vette, because he said he couldn't keep up at the track, would hate this video

search. its been covered....RMW shorty headers and failures of the flex joint (plus CEL's). Add my own experience with bad parts from RMW right from the start (race header incorrectly welded, ruined O2 sensor, melted bumper from improper fitment...on and on).
You forgot about all the faulty RMW heads

add them to the list. I know mine wasn't perfect....I don't think they do QC...if they did, they'd have seen the issue with mine. Luckily, Eric @ Helix had a fix for it. Wouldn't be the only time he picked up slack for the manufacturer on my behalf.

Guess you should do your homework before claiming a record:

Flannery in his GP at the top of the list with a 1:27.653

ok.... so NOW you have PROOF that a simple head on a R53 is faster than your beloved R56........... tell us how you feel now Paul?
stock pulley
stock cam
stock intercooler
stock brakes blah blah blah.............

oops...234 HUB HP too with 187tq

so I ask you again Paul.......what do you think Danny's with his HP in a capable drivers hands will do?
that's 67 more hp and 30ish more tq to come out of the corners with and accelerate down the straight aways

It's simple = Just have Flanery drive Danny's car and post the results

Well found Jan or was it Ian , so lets get this right Sean offically went 1.27.653 (not a 26 as you led us to believe) a whole .039 faster than Dez in the JCW R56 with a STOCK HEAD and a tune.

For those who dont know Dez here is picking up 1st place at Time Attack at Cal Speedway, so RMW arent the only MINI tuner to podium in the good old USA

Cant wait for next year it looks like it's going to be a whole lot of fun

So now all you have to do is find your 1.27s from a couple of weeks ago

As for Danny's who knows, it might have more Hp but the times recorded aren't showing that huge advantge, I suppose you have to decide over spending loads of money acheiving high hp or just getting some lessons in a R56 JCW to get the same times.

RedlineTrack Events is only one of the many run groups that go there . That may be the " record " for them but that does not say anything for the multitude of other organizations that utilize the willow Springs facility. For the most part the SOW course has no real record as it is constantly being changed and runs in a multitude of configurations' as well clock and counter clockwise. The only seriously recognized records in that area would be the " big track " at Willow which has only one layout.

So TMR and Paul tell Jan to grow up and now start whining and making excuses when they find out they don't have the record, here comes the hypocrisy again. If your going to dish it out, be man enough to take it.

Best post of the year, video of someone winning a time attack event VS someone multiple track records and a national championship. I think I've seen it all now.

P.S. Flannery doesn't always run with a transponder. I'm looking forward to making sure he has one on the car and telling him the time counts, you might be surprised.

Hey wait a sec, just realised I own a track record at both VIR and Road Atlanta for a space blue R53 running REO1r's with a 15% pulley, JCW intake, Milltek exhaust, TSW springs, IE camber plates, 19mm sway bar, Jan tune (and get this) JCW floor mats with me driving!!!!

PS: Just wait, I'm going to smash both of those records in 2010 and set a few more at a track near you!!

Ok.... so what have we all learned today?

Paul learned that he should just keep his mouth shut. I told you from the start you didn't have a record,( how do you know I don't have the other times sitting somewhere ready to spring on you?)

For the second part about money spent... let's see here............
R53
RMW Head $2k
injectors $325
tune $350
H&R coilovers $800 (we all know these are barely better than springs)
total price= $3475

R56 JCW
intercooler normally about $750-800 but custom? easily over $1k in fab time etc....
K+N air cleaner =$260
OS GIKEN LSD= $1590
OS GIKEN CLUTCH $1590
custom tune $600
springs = minimum of $400
my guess there are swaybars on it too but it really doesn't matter you have already spent more than Flanery did to go slower.............

SO EVEN ON THE LOW END OF THE SCALE YOU SPENT $5190 to GO SLOWER PAUL....... still feel good about that R56?

all this done on 234 HUB HORSEPOWER and 187 HUB TORQUE
we have come so much farther in tuning and prep since then Paul.....

I get a kick out of you trying to justify horsepower and times Danny and myself have done. Danny and I have less track time in our lives than your pro driver does in 2009 alone........ROFLMAO........ This just shows how little you really know about road racing.... but keep it coming.....

it's going to be so much sweeter when I post up the real times

The best part of this is you guys calling up OS GIKEN to brag about your "record" time..............ROFLMAO>...............whoops:no :

Just so you guys know we werent out at SOW trying to break records. We put on the new ABF springs and went out for the Redline appreciation day and did some testing. We ran 2 sessions and ran consistant 127-128's and a total of 10 laps. The springs are amazing and I cant wait until we can actually add some negative camber up front, Im still so surprised how well we did with stock shocks. Also Jan you mention your car that ran 127 with stock brakes is a joke, any honest person knows that after 2 laps the fluid would be boiling over and the pads would be smoked. R56 is an amazing car as are all Mini's but we are just getting started with the R56 and really testing each product ABF puts on the car to make sure we get results like we did at SOW. Jan if you are looking for a dogfight or grudge match name the track, pick any driver you like and lets do it. To all others on the board thanks for the kind words on the R56, Im just getting started...

On the south course at VIR, known to be very brake unfriendly, I've run six 30 min sessions in one day on the OEM JCW brake pads without boiling. While they aren't a very good pad for obtaining the lowest lap times during a track session they will hold up and I'm still using the very same pads on my street set-up.. Fill free to ask anyone that's run with me how easy I am on brakes...
