Using the AIM Pista. Reads all info off the ECU plus a bunch of other stuff. Track maps with all data or GPS which can be laid over Google earth to the second. I'm not so much in the know with this stuff so I leave it to Paul right now until I can start to absorb just how it all works. I would say by the time I'm up to speed on this thing I'll be in the $3K range.

Onasled, where are you gonna be tracking the car? Sticking mainly to the local tracks or are you gonna trailer it to a few other events?
Rally, will be testing at Lime Rock and NHIS. They are my local tracks right now, but in a few years we are getting an SCCA track real close.
Once I know it all works I'm off to VIR, Glen, maybe Mid Ohio, and beyond. My plan is to get accross the country and hit as many BMRCR events as I can, but maybe in '09-'10. Tempted to hit the southern tracks this winter, but that's a long way to go to find out something aint working. Just have to wait till spring.
Anyway,I will make most eastern tracks this summer if all goes well with the car and the $$.

traqmate seems to be popular. my buddy is a working on a four channel DVR with add on module for OBDII and GPS overlay. Four channel for four cameras...all in sync and with overlay data. pretty cool stuff, but probably not cost effective so it remains to be seen if it's a viable option.

I don't know what onasled's exact plans are, but I'm planning to go out there and lose (in class) for a while.

I have a lot of experience with spending $$$ prematurely, and additional experience in waiting until I've got my feet wet before spending the $$$. It's a lot more fun to learn for a while and then spend the $$$ than it is to spend the money, learn, & realize you spent the $$$ you don't have anymore on the wrong thing.

It's easier to learn with less power and with the KP cars out there you still have someone to practice passing on, depending on your level of experience. Even the KP cars are going pretty fast compared to the A group in DE.

I don't have any experience, but I'm pretty sure I can figure out how to lose effectively.

I can't wait to see onasled's car.

As a total aside, kelly girl nicely asked to see times someday and then got flamed. I'm mystified. This is a mini board. We should be friendly.

John,
I know you are kinda new here and yes, what you say should go for most everyone. But do understand that Kelly has posted on another forum on just what her agenda is here, not to mention her first two post here on this thread. Unfortunate, as I have no idea who Kelly is nor has she ever spoken to me nor have we ever had contact via here.
Kinda hard to pay attention and take anyone serious who post stuff like this ...

sooo i had to wander over to NAM and lift my leg on that thread...

couldn't resist...

all that car needs now is a audio system

upon further reading i see that thread as noneother than a
sycophant's convention...

i think that thing is aweful... but the 2x4 IS nice

man and i thought mininuts was like vegas... what happens there stays there.

but then again onasled you don't have the nuts to sign up, just trolling for ammo and airing out your dirty laundry to slander me.

nicely done. why don't you man up, sign up, and face the nuts on their turf instead of hiding over here on NAM??

How am I slandering you Kelly? Seriously, ... I just don't understand your agenda here. I read the nuts forum as it just keeps me informed on who to take seriously here. I'm not sure how you can slam me so much here and there and then post what you have just done here. I have never spoken a word about you with the exception of my last post.
You also seem to think that you have asked some kind of question here on this thread, but I'm just not finding it.
Kelly,... why don't 'you' just set it all straight here rather then have me go over to a forum that has it out for me? So, ... why don't "you' "man up" and fill us in?
What happens there stays there?? Why is that? The majority of the threads there are about what happens on NAM. Not sure why Nuts would have some kind of immunity.
Just asking Kelly. No fight from me,I have no personal beef with you. I think I have made my point clear here. Why should I be welcoming to those that have tried so hard to take me down? Would you?

i'm not the one dredging quotes over from the nuts... you are guilty of that offense sir, and what may i ask is your motivation for that??

you asked me to be nice, i've been nice, however you're crossing the line by crossing forums and taking my posts out of context.

as far as my questions go: read the thread, i've asked about the 'goodies under the hoodie' and whethter you'd be posting your initial tracktimes....but NO, you don't bother to respond.

you're too sensative and apparently think NO ONE has any right to question the validity of your build and immediately assume that because I'm on the nuts i must have an adjenda.

somehow i've been singled out by yourself and rally as the mouthpiece for the nuts and i'm not sure why.
what do you do, try to find the one person you think you can bulldoze?

i'm over it..

I think I've 'kinda' answered this? Not much right now, as I have stated before, the power has not been focused on. Right now there is an M7/Cosworth race head and a few other bolt ons. I'll get into the power more down the road, but don't know how I feel about ever going too deeply into it.
Other then the motor itself, there's almost too much to easily get into on what's actually under the hood.

Just got home from from checking out the car with Randy from M7, the thing is amazing. It is definitely all race car, no doubt about it.
Greg's first stab at body work came out awesome, the fenders are something you have to see in person, the pics don't do them(or the car) justice. The custom fabrication all over the car is just something you need to see to appreciate.
I can't wait to be there for it's first shake down.
Randy will be posting pics as soon as he can, I forgot to bring my camera, sorry.

Just got back from visiting Greg and checking status on his project. After seeing how much he has accomplished, mainly by hand in his own shop, I am amazed that it has taken such a short time to be where he is today. The amount of detail is truly amazing and I have taken some snap shots to share with those that are interested. Before anyone comments that they see tie straps un trimmed or a bit of over spray let me say that this is still A WORK IN PROGRESS ! The car is very close to track ready but the finishing touches have not been completed. The car started , and ran without issues but the snow covered roads prevented any type of on road adventures. The car has been a learning process for Greg as well as it is his first attempt at any type of body work or large scale aluminum fabrication and up close and personal you could never tell . I was very impressed but of course have a vested interest . Those others present felt the same and when and if those of you ever get a chance to see this car in person I would be interested in hearing your view point as well. I will put up a few shots tonight and continue to do so as I process them.

Wow. That is a work of art. If I even thought I was going to try to do something that nice I'd just lie down and cry instead.

Onasled: I emailed. I'd like to come down and see the car sometime.

M7Tuning

The pictures do not do this justice but the hand formed wing supports were amazing . Polished aluminum, tapered and multi adjustable . The end plates for the wing are not installed as yet .

This is the tunnel for the side exit exhaust system. There is no ground clearence issues and it is covered with insulation as is much of the cockpit.

Some of the interior braded steel plumbing.

Modified carbon fiber hood.

Aluminum rocker panel detail.

Front wing detail.

More to come .
