Ok, please no flames.....not really a car engine guy per say!
I found some E85 gas here in the Chicago area.
Other wise I have access to 92/92 at all times.
Would the JB+ be any use IF I only ran the 92/93?
And lastly, would there be any positive use for me using the E85 - 92/93 mix WITHOUT the JB+ ?
Thanks Guys.
Oh.......2014 R55 fJCW A/T no mods!
The only reason to use E85 mix is to raise octane (Up to a total of 30% ethanol don't forget that pump gas already has 10%). At the default setting you need 91 minimum with 93 recommend. You only need higher octane if you are turning up the dial and as Yesti said do this at your own risk.
Thinking seriously about the JB+. Anyone care to comment about the utility of the BMS CAN tool? I don't plan on using anything but 93 octane in the car. Cheers.
I personally could do without the CAN tool. The gauge hijacking is kind of cool, but I don't really even notice anymore. I've considered selling it, but the potential code reading capabilities could come in handy some day.

Installed yesterday. Dang snow in the northeast kept me from really testing it out fully. The power delivery just feels smoother, but at this point it might just be the placebo effect.

Perhaps the money saved could be put towards an Ultragauge?
ordering mine today finally. had a bunch of other things to take care off and new tires. i am not banking on it but do you guys notice a difference in sound?
Just remember to put your R60 to sleep for 15 mins.
Trust me videos won't do it justice. But it's a great bargain for $300.
yeah i will leave it in sleep for 15-20 min, i am always cautious about things like that and dont mind waiting an extra few minutes. i always fill her up with 93, leave the dial where it is when i receive it?

Yes, leave it at the 12 position if you only use 93. Otherwise if you use E85 and 93 like I do then you can dial it up. I'm at the 2(70%). I'm staying there.

cool, stock position is at the 12 right? just want to make sure i understood it right, im paranoid when it comes to stuff like that.
I have VIP Cai jcw exhaust 2012 r60 when I added the Cai things got a little bit quieter. Then added the bms Jb and feel the car started sounding louder again!
I have had it on for approx 3000 miles and took it off on Friday while it went in for oil change. I am going to put the Jb back on today I miss it. Got new spark plugs let's see how it does now...
Lot more torque from 2700-4500 range and I feel power delivery is a lot smoother. I love it and since we have a similar set up I can tell you that I have had no CEL and the dealer didn't mention anything odd either. I was scared that even after removing it physically there might be a way for them to find out it had it on there but they didn't say anything!
I can't imagine a bigger bang for the buck when it comes to performance mods. It's relatively cheap, easy to install, and 100% reversible. What's not to like?
