R59 The Roadster is Really FUN!
Fenton, my CM4, is in the shop for routine support, and I was given a JCW manual Roadster as a loaner. The drive to work changed my plans for the day. Lunch was off the table, and a co-worker volunteered to go on a drive instead. We have a nearby road with over 100 turns in a 10-mile stretch, and that was a fantastic, top-down, invigorating drive.
Warm, sunny day - twisty road in the hills - we started looking for ways to continue the fun. This afternoon, before I give it back, will be a drive to the coast through the mountains.
You guys who have one of these for your steady ride have really done it right!

Very cool ghamma you got to ride with one and had fun with it, especially from someone driving a CM4 as it is sort of the opposite of the MINI spectrum - essential practicality vs. egocentric fun (not to say the CM isn't fun by any means!!!
), but I hope you know what I'm saying... I'm not being judgmental. Rather I appreciate the dilemma these opposite offers
I'm actually surprise that's what they gave you. Don't they usually try to provide a similar vehicle?
It seems to me that it's actually becoming a trend I see for some families to own a countryman and a roadster... maybe it makes sense some how

After a great trip through the mountains and driving by the beach, I was glad to move back into Fenton - I didn't need to worry about ramps and dips in the road (ground clearance challenges for the R59). The great outdoors was wonderful for a couple of days, though!

Actually, when I got my Roadster, I was deciding between that and a CMS. Obviously, I went the way of the ragtop; but, the CMS is a seriously awesome car in its own right. Some days I wish I had the bigger car, or more appropriately as TG said, wish that we had both. But then the sun comes out and those thoughts just drop down and away
Reminds me of this:
Test driving the R59 after the Audi I was looking at was one of the best car decisions I have made. Test drove and bought the same day
