On a very hot, humid day....

Do you ever find that it is too hot/humid to have the top down? Does running the air conditioner with top down make a significant difference?

I find that as long as I keep speed = to temp I'm fine. Lol unfortunetley it hit a 100+ quite a few days this summer.

I run like this:
- hot outside, top down = aircon on at 64
- hot outside, top up = aircon on at 68
- cold outside, top down = heater on at 72, heated seats on
- cold outside, top up = heater on at 68, heated seats on

It's been 100 one or two days, and high 80s/low 90s with high humidity on many more, and I haven't felt the need to put the top up to get cool enough.

I drove across the state of FL today and I must admit I had to keep the top up the whole way. It was 95 degrees and humid. Call me a wimp, but I'm too old to sweat for 4 hours.

Rev

You have a sharp looking vehicle... Great color combo... I will consider the same combo if I get the Cooper S... Best of luck with it , and thanks for sharing your thoughts and comments...
Best, JoNack

One more thing, Rev

I see the Fiat in the background ... Now, as an Italian American, I am usually biased toward Italian sport cars, but I just think the Mini has a better look...btw : there are more Fiat dealerships in my area, only 2 mini, and far away..

Um, I almost never have the AC off....if it's anything warmer than the mid 60's out, it's too darn hot to have no AC. First light I have to stop at and I'll start to sweat...especially if the sun is out.

Run the A/C, won't hurt a thing and you'll stay comfortable.

On a couple of days when it was 100+, I had the AC on full blast with the passenger vents closed to route as much air towards me as I could. It was definitely enough to make a difference.

The only external force that causes my top to expand is my co-pilot's post-M intolerance for temperature extremes. I'd rather hear the SC whine the her.

In town driving on 90 and up degree days the top is up. I don't like sweating just for the convenience of sun in my face and wind in my hair. It's not that long until temps will be back down.

Do you tell her that? If so I was wondering why we haven't seen you at our dinners lately.
