I purchased an aftermarket mirror for my 53 that was slightly concave (or is it the other way?) that dramatically improved the "blind spot" on the passenger side. It was simply the glass with an adhesive back that stuck right over the existing mirror. But, I can't remember the name of the company that made it. Does anyone know 1) the name of the company, and 2) do they make one for the Roadster?

 

Versus buying the OEM European convex glass?

Bluefox is correct; the mirror is convex. Convex is shaped like a hill and expands the field of vision. Concave is indented...just like a cave.

It is a full size mirror, not one of those 2" round stick ons that they sell at various auto supply stores.
I like it very much.
My husband gave it to me as a gift and doesn't recall where he bought it.
I can't find a driver's side mirror for my Clubman and have just sent them an email.

LittleWing ... That's it!!! Thanks so much. Yep, it was the full size glass that was shaped identically to the existing mirror. It just stuck right on and was there for 5 years with no issues! It was great in reducing the blind spot.

Does anyone know if the Roadster mirror is the same as other MINI's?

 

You jogged my memory (it's hell getting old) - anyway I had the Multivex on my 06 R52 and removed them before I traded it for the Roadster. I just went out and check but alas, the R52 mirror was not as tall as the Roadster so I will not be able to use them (have the driver and passenger Multivex). I would love to find them for the Roadster since I really liked the visibility they provided, but the Multivex website does not show them for our model yet.

 

Multivex didn't answer my email and DH doesn't remember who he bought the passenger side mirror from. I'm afraid they don't make mirrors for MINIs anymore.
I think I'll check with OutMotoring. I don't know who else to ask?

 

Yep. I don't think Multivex makes much of anything now. Called the number on their website and AT&T redirects to regional numbers of similar vendors. Bummer, as I'd love a pair of convex mirrors for when the top is up. Looks like OutMotoring doesn't have them either.
