Meet Elphie - JCW BRG/CR

So I picked up my JCW Roadster on Saturday in the pouring rain BUT yesterday turned out to be beautiful so I took lots of pictures! And after about 400 miles total logged and close to 4 hours of top-down goodness I also have some thoughts. REMINDER, I'm coming from an 05 MCS modded with the JCW "210" tune, AND My wife has an 09 MCS with an Alta AP.

Car Overall: WOAH! It's a fun car to drive, and I love all the looks I get. Solid construction, etc. My only gripe is that darn "break in period" haha. I have the sport suspension, and it handles pretty well as is. I'm VERY glad I went with the JCW, because it feels as fast as my wife's 09 with the Alta AP and if I had gotten a regular S I feel I'd have felt it was too slow

Semi-Auto Roof: LOVE IT! The convenience alone is worth the $750 IMO. Being able to raise or lower it while driving along slowly is awesome. Lazy, maybe, but still awesome.

Brakes: Holy Crap they're awesome!!! Was cruising at about 55 on a twisty back road and around one corner was a deer in the road....I was singing their praises after that.

Wind Screen: It does help, although not a TON. With the top down and windows up you still get wind up top, but it's bearable.

Roof/Noise: It's not the quietest car going with the top up, BUT, even when driving about 85 down the interstate you don't have to talk loud to be heard or anything.

If anyone has any other questions, ask away! :-)

Applause Thanks for your thoughts and love the pics. Your Roadster is beautiful

I agree with you on the JCW brakes. On my test drive, I was blown away how good they are Congrats again!

Looks great! I'm thinking about swapping to the JCW brakes when I need rotors and pads on my S.

Very nice looking. Congrats on the new ride!

Is it me or is the roadster's front windshield slanted back a lot more than a standard mini?

Congrats on the new purchase. I see you got the car in Cincinnati from their FB page. My wife an bought ours there too. I love the JCW brakes. I had a similar incident with a 2 deer in the middle of a bridge after a curve. The brakes stopped so quickly that I startled the deer.

Yup! After some more "spirited" driving today....I'm totally in love with these brakes......almost worth the extra cost just for them!!

Absolutely! The first night I drove off from the dealer in my JCW Coupe and tapped the brakes I nearly came to a negative G hault, whoa! I was used to an old Jeep Liberty who's brakes you had to beg then threaten to get them to stop!

Love the Roadster's color combo! Are you in Louisville?
