I lived in Minneapolis for about five years, mamaveliks. I just love that town. Hopefully the weather was a little better than Lansford. Your Roadster looks fantastic by the way.

Hey Makaveliks, I'm noticing a few things on your car I'm guessing where not how you got the car. Your mirror arm and front trim are all painted. I'm guessing you had it done. Am I right? It's not vinyl is it?

Thanks! The weather was about the same as Lansford. LOL.

You are correct TG. I did paint stuff. I though it would look a little sportier with everything matching instead of different colors. I painted the parts myself with paint from Touchupdirect.com. I painted windshield squirters, headlight bezels, taillight bezels, grill opening trim, side scuttles, mirror arms, door handles, front license plate mount, and front and rear license plate covers. I also got the Waistline Blackout kit from Outmotoring.com to black out the waistline. Still need some wheels, but I'll get those in spring and save them for summer only tires.

MSP is practically in my back yard. Pay a visit to Motorwerks while you were there?

The all-white trim is unique and gives it a very sleek, clean look. You might want to consider how the brake ducts might look as part of that overall design. They're fairly easy to remove.

I did it to my '11 MCS (attached pic)...

Sure did, that was our purpose of the trip! We took the roadster and our Countryman. Also they found some problems we will need to get fixed on our next trip. We did not have the time during this trip.

The Roadster has a leaking oil solenoid. They did not have the parts and would have to order them... Although I was told I was told when I bought it that the '13s were fixed and would not have this problem.

The Countryman need it's brake programming redone. According to the service dept there is an issue with Mini's and BMW's since they put brake sensors in and even though our brakes have 10mm left(which is very little wear) it is saying it needs new brakes. Even resetting it still says this. Something about the sensor communicating to computer and the computer misinterpreting this. This will not effect anything other than the car will constantly say it needs service. They said they can reprogram it with updated software and the problem should go away. Otherwise I'm not worried about it. It won't effect drive ability at all.

Also I thought about the ducts, but I like the way with it looks all black the lower grill mirrors the upper grill.

Great pics, makaveliks. The Northern lights are one of the great natural wonders.

Beautiful With that exposure and the way the shadows look, almost looks like daytime. The moon must have been near full?

Must've frozen your butt off, standing out there for those long exposures...

It was -8 out, but there was no wind so it didn't feel too cold. I did also have a huge jacket, fur hat, and boots good to -100F though... LOL

Most of them were 8 seconds, f2.8, ISO 5000 using a Rokinon 14mm wide angle lens. The last one with the short star trails was 3 5 min exposures with ISO 100 stacked. The moon was very bright. It was 68% illuminated I believe This is what the moon looked like off to my left...

Looking good Alan.
The only way we could have 100% top down is not to use it
We're down to 54% top down... The lowest we drove it was 40°F at night a week ago... Hikes!!! But most of this winter it has been driven top up. No point of fighting the weather and that's all right with us. It still is so much fun to drive, even top up

Edit: Never mind what I just said . . . I must have replied to a very old thread. NAM layout and behavior is weird... kind of frustrating to work with . . .

We are expecting 6" to 9" of snow in the Washington, DC area over the next 24 hours. No top-down driving for me.

I like them, and will run them again next winter. They are not a snow tire, but have handled this heavy winter just fine. I've never been stuck and I can stop on snow packed roads. They are exceptional in the wet.

My youngest daughter is moving to Miami this weekend. I'm jealous.

The latest winter pictures have been excellent. Keep them coming!

Can I play, even if I'm a bit late to the party?

Just collected this afternoon. Bad camera phone pics as the sun was low and bright at a tricky angle.
