R58 2014 R58 JCW suspension question
2014 R58 JCW suspension question
Hello fellow Mini-motor people!
I just bought a 2014 R58 JCW with a lot of miles and it seems to need a new suspension. My question is…I do not like how low the car rides because even the slightest decline you have to be super careful and drive very slow not to scrape. It is not like I weigh a lot, only 135#. Also, I live in Illinois and it can snow an awful lot. I want to know if anyone has suggestions to put all new suspension on the car that will raise it considerably. I know most people like to slam cars, but I am quite the opposite. I do realize it will not handle as well as being low, but I do not care. I like a little higher look.

I could make some suggestions, but do you know what it has for suspension already?
If you have the OEM black shocks and springs, for a full refresh, I might start with trying to find a set of JCW red springs, and match them with Bilstein B6/8 shocks. Then finish it off with this install kit:

Regardless of what mods you make with the suspension, you do want to add this to your Coupé:

This has saved my oil pan and transmission on a number of occasions, judging by the scrapes and gouges it has accumulated over the years.

How many inches higher do you think this setup will get me?
If I do not get a great suggestion to add some height with quality parts, I will most definitely take the advice.

I am under the impression that the "Low Slung" suspension is the JCW red springs. You can see from the specs that the "Low Slung" suspension drops the car by about 10mm. If your car has the EOM black springs installed, yours would be the "John Cooper Works Standard Suspension" specs.
Those are from the newTIS site. I can send you a PM with instructions for access.
