JCW Suspension update

Interesting news, was just informed by my MA that MINI Aftersales has yet to provide and part numbers for the JCW suspension for the R58. He has been leaning on them over the last month but so far nothing shows as available. Going to be looking into this as the last thing I want is a stock suspension in our car.

Jon, that's same thing my dealer has been telling me all along and once again when I picked up the car on Saturday. Told them to let me know as soon as they hear what the udpate is.

Still to this day baffles me why a "performance" car is left with a soft suspension as stock. Even the sport suspension that was on the JCW Coupe I took for a test drive wallowed around the corners with body roll and really never felt settled (after spending 30k in a GP it seems nasty). Right now sitting here trying to figure out if we can leave it stock until the JCW suspension comes out or if I need to install aftermarket(a much less optimal solution).

In what way will the JCW Suspension for the Coupe be different from the R56?

My guess would be the change in the balance of the car has caused them to look at the suspension and make adjustments to it. While the R56/R58 are close the balance of the cars is quite different by my limited experience so far behind the wheel of the R58.

At all press days, etc MINI have gone to great lengths to say that the suspension is not the same as the standard R56. If they made that much change, the stock R56 would probably affect the car pretty significantly.

I guess the JCW Suspension for the Coupe will be tweaked in the same way as the normal suspension then.

I'd like to feel the difference but I expect it will be a long time before my dealer has a Coupe or Hardtop with the JCW Suspension for me to test-drive.

I couldn't agree more!

Confirmation from Gabe at MF that the JCW suspension will be released at the same time as the other Coupe specific accessories. Looking forward to that date as I fully plan on picking up some of the accessories.
