NM springs for JCW coupe

I just ordered some NM Engineering springs for my 2012 JCW coupe, I had seen that coupe dropped on those springs but I have been searching for pics and can't find them anywhere now... if anyone has an idea.

I am hoping 1.2" isnt too much and won't cause any other suspension issues because thats the only thing I am doing, putting springs on.

daily driver, just want the coupe to sit lower.

As long as you stay with a 205/45/17 or even a 215/40/17 tire you'll be good!

I would go springs but I love the size and look of 215/45/17, rubbing forsure with that size at that drop :(

Forgot to mention, keep an eye on your rear camber. You may or may not have to get rear control arms to get them back to spec. It's hit or miss for some folks.

I have them on my Roadster and like them a lot. Without rear control arms you will be about -2 degrees camber in the rear.

thanks for the tips. The NM guy told me I would be OK with only putting springs on, but thanks for the heads up on camber. I will of course check it out after and check the alignment.

is 2 degrees very significant if I let it be? I would assume it would just mean uneven wear on the tires, but at 2 degrees I wonder if it would be slow enough not to wear out quickly.

jkapinos do you have any pics posted up of your roadster with these springs?

I don't have any good pics, as I do not own a quality camera. All as I have are phone pics. The two degrees are not that bad as NM says to set it at - 1.8 degrees for aggressive street. I did get the H-sport rear control arms, but they are set to stock length right now. Tire wear is still good after a few thousand miles, but the handling is great. One more thing is the lowering springs will wear your shocks out faster than the stock springs. When that happens most just get the Koni yellows and mount the springs to them.

You will want adjustable lower control arms. I'm running 215-40 18 on my JCW Coupe with NM springs with only slight rubbing.

I cant figure out if putting 15mm wheel spacers on will be OK or not as well, with my stock wheels on JCW coupe with NM springs (1.2" drop)

Look in the R59 section. In the Black Toffee thread starting at post 102 you will see he added the NM springs with 12 mm spacers with no problem. Good luck.

Does it have any detrimental effect on ride quality ?

i have fitted ebach lowering springs to previous cars, and found ride comfort was much harder.

I've had the NM springs on my JCW coupe for about a year and half now. Love the look with less wheel gap. No issues with the stock 205/45/17. I also have 215/45/17 on Sparco wheels for track and autox. In a few situations the tires have rubbed on outside inner wheel well fabric. This was only on track where I got up too much on curbing or at a track with excessive compression due to elevation change.
Ride harshness not much different. Bigger impact felt from run flats compared to non run flats.
Mine dropped about 1" to start then close to another 1/2" after spirited driving. I went ahead and did an H sport rear bar and control arms.

That's awesome, first picture I've seen with 215/45/17 lowered on NM springs.

Been contemplating doing that as I don't have a need for coilover(daily driver), but I'm running a 17x7.5 et 40 offset. Which might rub with a 215/45/17.

Are you running a fair amount of camber to reduce that scrub you get?

Here is an '07 S with NMs and 215/45/17. Stock shocks, adjustable RCAs. Dealer align = stock tolerances. Driven daily, no rubs.

Just the small amount of front camber you can get by removing the pin that comes stock on the strut tower. The shop did a good alignment too.

I think you'll be fine. Our son has the NM springs on his JCW Roadster and it sits nice. I'm pretty sure 215s would fit. My R56 has H&R springs and it's lower and 215s fit and the wife has Eibach springs on her Clubbie and 215s fit. Daughters Cabrio is stock...for now!
