Interior dome light

Does anyone know how to remove the cover for the dome light in the coupe? Trying to install LED, but not sure how to get this cover off.
Thanks

In on this. Is removing the dome light to wire a radar detector the same as it is on a R56?

Nevermind, I figured it out! The whole console pops out. (map lights, toggle switches and all) I was able to just pull it from the front side and it snapped out. However, there are two metal clips on the back side that seems like they would pop out from that side easier.

Clips do seem hard to get too. But give it a try, if not then would say just do like I did and give it a good tug down from the front.

Yes, the whole piece comes down and there are two wire harnesses for the lights and the toggles.

Nice. Hopefully, I should be able to wire a V1 to those.

Excellent- thanks for this it's been bugging me trying to get access to the dome light, it was surprisingly easy to remove
For anyone upgrading to LED bulbs you'll need a single 501 LED as the gap for the bulb to go into for any of the map reading or dome lights is very narrow- I'll post some pics when I receive the bulbs.

No problem! And I used a w5w for the dome light and it fit fine. Didn't look at the map lights.

Couple of pics to add..

As H. STGLTZ has said, pull dome light down, I used the little lip above airbag light to grip and held the trim around top of windscreen to secure ...

Whole unit pops out...

You'll see the three black bulb holders for dome light and reading lights- just simply twist to remove...

This photo shows the black holder and original bulb. The blue LED bulb that I was going to use doesn't fit due to LED's around side of holder - so this will be replaced with a single LED as soon as I have received it.

Hope this helps

EXCELLENT post! Thanks for that! Considering tinkering with my interior lighting a bit as well, and those photos clear things up perfectly in the dome light area.
