I have an 09 MCS convertible JCW stage 1. I have noticed that almost all of the 2009 MCS that I have seen pictures of have the mini chrome badge under the hood on the engine cover but mine does not have this. Would anyone know why? See my picture below.
They started with the MC's however it's not consistent so my guess is it's based on certain batches of engines although you would think that quality control would pick up on it. I've never seen an MCS without an engine badge though.

engines without the mini badge are a limited edition super highoutput version that when combined with a jcw canned tune will produce less power than a RMW tuned Cooper S .
When experimenting with high boost in the shop R56, The turbo got hot enough to melt the valve cover. I replaced it with a factory piece, which didn't have the badge on it. Perhaps there's a separate part number for the badge. Anyway, we don't need no steenkeen batches.
Yeah, my '09 MC doesn't have one, either. From the other threads about this, it seems the missing badges started in late '08 builds, but previous and current cars have them.

Mine is a launch vehicle and doesn't have one either.
Thanks for the replies, at least its not just my car. Must be cost cutting. But how much could that badge cost? I think it looks better with it, but not a big deal.
