It strikes me as odd that the engine on my Cooper Clubman has absolutely no MINI logo or MINI branding anywhere on the engine cover. Yes, there is a "MINI recommends Castrol" etched on the sheet metal that supports the dipstick but that's about it. I spoke with my MA who checked a couple of Coopers and found the same lack of branding. I'm pretty sure that the Cooper S does have a logo or some branding. Do any (justa) Cooper owners, Coupe or Clubman have anything different on theirs?

Is there a Mini emblem on the valve cover? My MCS has a large logo in the valve cover.
The block and other parts are made in France. It is assembled at Hams Hall.
From the articles I've read, my understanding is that the basic engine is a design sourced from Peugeot Citroen, but BMW engineered much of the valvetrain to their own specifications. It's not an "off the shelf" engine sourced from another manufacturer. Not sure what comes in from France, and what final assembly is done in the U.K., but it's a great engine, as far as I'm concerned.
