Oxy,

I love the checkerboard stripes and mirror. Very neat to see a different take on the OB.

Thanks!

I can't wait. I have a few more weeks to go. It is hard to wait, but I'm sure well worth it.

Love the checkered stripes OXY.....I was thinking of doing that when I replace mine......either that or wait for it.......Orange stripes with white edging! I think the orange and light blue would look pretty cool

Hi All,

My oxygen blue MINI now is one month old and has 900 miles on it. It is definitely the best color that MINI makes. I was debating between a regular MINI and a MINI S, and the oxygen blue color was the deciding factor. I don't need the extra power, I just like the color!

This is the black jack scuttle.

I've had Nellie one week exactly and have raked up 365 miles on her. Got my first fill-up today, though the dash said I could go another 72 miles. Didn't want to push it.

I fell in love with the dark silver w/black bonnet stripes after I'd ordered the OB, but now that I have her I'm really glad I got the OB. Easier to find in a parking lot and more rare.

Linda:

I loved the dark silver w/ black also! It would have meant getting an S, though, plus it's not oxygen blue!

You didn't say, what's your interior like?

That scuttle is kinda snazzy and in my opinion, definitely an improvement over the standard issue.

Congratulations on your fun/mile readings; my experience thus far is that it just keeps getting better--Enjoy!

If I didn't know better, this almost sounds like the threatening language from something eerie...like Jaws.

BUT, I do know better!

Congratulations Romo--that is so cool!

Way to go, Romo,

I don't know where you're located, but I got my Mini 5 days after she landed and could have been 4 but my MA was off on that Friday, so it might not be long now. However, I don't know what things you are having added on - for me it was just the sport stripes. The scuttle was done at the dealer's.

My interior is black, nothing special in there.

I'm in northern New York---my dealer is in White Plains--about 7 hours south of me. I've got my fingers crossed for picking up the car this coming weekend, but it may be longer...

Hi guys. I just completed my order for an '09 Oxygen Blue/White Coupe. My sales guy said I'm in for week 48. I'm awaiting the prod # shortly. So I should have it by Christmas if things go smoothly.
Now to try to hold off obsessing...

Thanks Romo!
So, I think I've read here that it's "normal" for the tracking info in the Owner's Lounge to be completely wrong initially?
And is the $289 document prep charge a dealer charge or is that on everyone's? Anyone know?
Here I go with the first of a zillion questions, I guess!

The Owner's Lounge vehicle info will be wrong for a while. After a while, your vehicle description will be correct but the vehicle status will virtually always be wrong. Mine says it's "awaiting transport" but it's actually already been transported.

Don't know about any document prep charge...

Keep those questions a-comin'--I promise to try to answer 1 out of 2 every time!

Document prep charge sounds fishy to me.

Are you buying your mini from MOP? If so they have raised the dealer prep. It seems that most dealers like to add on these added charges for extra profit. I bought mine a little over a year ago and paid $185 dealer prep from MOP. At least you get wheel locks with this fee but that's not saying much.

The tracking info online is sometimes a week or so behind. The most up to date info is calling the number 1-800-ask-mini. You can either talk to a person or get a recording.

Welcome aboard.

Dan, I went through Herb Chambers after having an awful salesman experience at MOP. I know MOP has (or had) $195 dealer charge and I'm certain that HC's used to be a little higher. I negotiated hard on getting the car, using my trade-in, so they knew I was serious about "not another dime" and there was never a mention of any dealer charge at all. So if they slid it in there I'll be p*ssed. In this economy, I'd think they'd smarten up over this sort of thing.
I've e-mailed to ask what it is and if indeed it's a dealer prep I'll insist they get rid of it.
This stuff makes me tired.
But that brand new Mini makes me

Now, anyone have any knowledge of the boot box? Specifically the hard one that creates a flat surface when the back seats are down? It's pricey ($236 online) but I want it for my dog when he travels.
