Thanks! I got the wheels from Tire Rack. They are Motegi's with Blizzak snow tires on them.

You just never know what you'll find in the parking lot of the Cracker Barrel!

Here's a close-up pic of the wheel. I like the way the black of the wheel ties in the black on the rest of the car.

Very nice! Makes me even more impatient for mine to arrive!
Romo, what wheels/tires did you order it with?
I'm having second thoughts on the all-seasons after all of the reading I've done here. I'm wondering if I shouldn't just get the performance summer tires on it since it looks like I'm going to have to buy a set of snows anyway. I'd hoped to not spend any more $ on it this year, though.
I don't want the all-seasons to go to waste and I don't know if I can get snows to fit on those same rims.

What a Thanksgiving you had, Romo! Can't think of a better way to spend it than in a brand new Mini! She's/he's/it's a beaut! Does it have a name yet?

Congratulations!

I had the same thoughts as you, so I decided to get the rotator spoke wheels with the performance tires, then I ordered Blizzak snow tires from Tire Rack with the black Motegi wheels. I think the snow tires will fit on the factory rims. Now I like the black rims so much I'm thinking about making them my summer rim, too. If you call Alex at the Tire Rack, he can help you get whatever you want/need.

No, no name yet. So sad. Hope it doesn't get a complex!

I'm going to go sit in it and not get out until it tells me its name. I'll spend all day (and then some) in it if I have to!

You just never know when the name will come to you. I adopted a rescue dog 10 months ago that is a very sweet, but neurotic, small poodle mix. One day I said to her, "You're just a nervous Nellie" and thought, 'Nellie, that's a good name for the Mini'. Then when I told a friend her name, the friend said, "Whoa, Nellie!" and I thought, 'Perfect!'. So, my OB is Nellie.

Neither of my MINIs had names, but if they did they'd be pet names (dog names to be specific), not human names. That's just how I relate to the car.

On the OB front, it's raining here today and, just a bit ago, the rainy weather became a "perfect storm." How?? Well, I have noticed that if I'm out mucking about on the roadways in my MINI in the rain, and then once parked, we get a real nice downpour, sufficient amounts dirt wash off the car to make it still appear quite clean should it dry off. This was most certainly not the way it was with my Indi Blue Cooper....the slightest moisture and the car looked like crap. However, with our magical OBs I have literally walked around the car after a "perfect storm" in total wonderment. With the bulk of the dirt washed away the car look darn good considering the circumstances. Naturally, a trip to the car wash is required for maximun bling, but often this MINI still quite presentable, or at least it's not dirty to the point of distraction. OB MINIs rock!!!!

For the full story of the duckie, check out this thread: http://www.mini2.com/forum/new-york-...-maxamini.html

By all accounts, Ed (MaxaMini) was quite a legend in our MINI world...

Oh yes. I had the pleasure of hearing about the origins from one of our members in PhillyMini who received a duckie from him. :-)

Here's a picture, though probably not the subject you had in mind!
These are my girls who get to ride in Nellie. Baby Girl is on the left and she is 15 years old and also has Cushings Disease, Ted. Lola is my rescue dog I adopted in February. They both love riding in the car. Nellie is a good size for my little family.

They look like a cute pair Linda! Darn Cushing's Disease anyway ! I will say this (and it took me a long time to reach this perspective). Given that we all gotta go, it's kind of amazing to go from something that makes you feel good (at least initially). It's not much of a consolation but it's kind of ironic.

Anyway, I'm glad you and the gals are enjoying your MINI. I'm sure they wholeheartedly approve of the Oxy Blue and that Baby Girl & Lola look stunning riding around in it!
