OK, better steer back to safer waters...

This is wrong. This thread hasn't been bumped in a few days. What is wrong with us ?

Just to give it a little boost, here's a pic of 'tedscar', freshly washed (Mystique) and waxed (Hydro). My first time with either product--so far, I'm impressed! (Rest of the pics are in my gallery)

The more I see of this color, the more I like it!

Sweet, love the Rotator spoke wheels, really glad we ordered those now

I'm still hoping for delivery in a few weeks....

Except for a shorty antenna, our MINIs look exactly alike from the outside....if memory serves our interiors are somewhat different, which is no shock as seeing two MINI exactly alike is rare.

OB has been a perfect fit for me.....it may not be a color the masses think is "hot", but if you know Minis it lends a great traditional look. I spec'ced my car out for this in other ways, too, so I personally relate to this MINI in a manner that others may not understand....and that's fine.

A pod of MINIs!

Well now, I just can't stand to see this thread sink so low.

Here's a pic I took last weekend when the local MINI club had gathering at Letchworth State Park--the so-called "Grand Canyon of the East". I was expecting more folks but we had a great time nonetheless.

Fall colors in western NY are coming on strong this week. For our event, they were starting but they're a lot better now! Oxygen Blue looks great with the fall colors in the background!

Yet another reason to love Oxygen Blue!!!!!

Reasons Why OB is Awesome!!

1. A classic color very appropriate to a proper Mini
2. Is unique to Cooper coupes and therefore the most rare current color
3. Is non-metallic and costs less
4. Does not show dirt as much as many other colors
5. Matches the sky on a clear day
6. A fashionable color for personal accessorization (including airplanes)
7. It's always a fun color

and

8. Looks great with fall foliage!!!!!

Looking for O2 mini to view in person

Hello!

I am getting ready to order a mini and I am leaning toward the oxygen blue. I know that colors can look a lot different in person and I would really like to see one before I order--it's such a big decision, you know. My nearest dealer is 4 hours away--they will have an 02 in 3 weeks, but I would like to avoid another 8 hour roundtrip, if possible. So, I'm wondering if anyone here with an 02 either lives closer to me than 4 hours, or knows someone who does. I'm in northern New York--St. Lawrence County--close to the Canadian border. Thanks in advance for your help!

Romo

I'm a bit outside of your neighborhood, but I do understand your wanting to see the color in person. Short of that, though, you are in the right place to get a sense of the color...lots of pics here. I ordered OB sight unseen, which was kind of a thrill as I knew it would be good, I just didn't know how good. Mine is a 5/07 car...I totally love it!!!

My MA said that he really dislikes the color and he had someone order one sight unseen and they were disappointed when it arrived. Hard to imagine, but it has me thinking I should be thorough before I order. Of the colors they had in stock, I was surprised at how much better some looked in person and at how some just fell short. I really love all the pix I've seen of the 02, though, so I think I'm probably safe.

Probably. I liked OB as soon as it was announced because it is so similar to a classic Mini color that I've always admired. The thing is that not everybody gets that (even MAs ), and even if they do there are definitely plenty of other hues that may better suit folk's taste.

Oh, and btw....welcome to NAM!!!!

I can understand your hesitancy Romo. I realize you may not have anyone close by, but if there is a local MINI club (even in another state), you might try asking on their site as well. I was lucky in that someone I contacted from the local club was willing to meet me so I could see O2B 'in-the-flesh'. (Course I'd already ordered and I think my MINI was in production by then, but I was confident I would like the color.)

Good luck. I'd love to drive up so you could get a look, but that's a far piece from here...

totally understandable, but i'm sure you will love it! cameras can change the way colors look but if you go through all of our galleries, it should be a pretty good representation of the 02B.

Congrats on your new ride, love the color! I'm wondering if anyone is going to go a Gulf Racing package to their O2 blue car? If so, can you send me the pics or let me know where I can see them, thanks!

It's not a bad idea to wait and see one in person. It's not a common blue. People seem to either love the color or hate it but I have never had anyone tell me they didn't like the color in person. I've just heard the dislikes online. I've had quite a few people tell me though that they wish the color was offered in the S.

There was such a car at the last MINI United, but I'm thinking it was a full custom paint job...not based on OB. Still, it could be done.....but not by me.
