This happens with all MINIs, but it is undoubtably aggrevated by driving a MINI that gets your blood going even when it is sitting still...such is the case w/ OBs, I'm afraid. When one gets a new MINI, it is natural to want to explore it's capabilities....which is has in bundles. One definitely has to get it all out of one's system...after that it is easier to settle down. The thing I always go back to is that the Mini, while it has a motoring sport pedigree, is also very much an everyday commuter car with superb driving characteristics that should make us safer, more precise, more engaged in our daily motoring experiences. Somehow the new MINI has been equated w/ a race car....and so it is in some applications. For most of us, though, Sir Alec's aspirations for the Mini should suffice in that it is just darn good at being what a motor car should be...which all adds up to a lot of fun regardless of how fast one chooses to drive.

gokartride, I could relate to everything you wrote from the opening...to the thumbsup. Of course, my MINI experience is all of two days, but it's been a grand and glorious coupla days ! I cannot believe how much fun that car is. To top it off, I got to do the MINI wave super enthusiastically TWICE from my MINI today. Fortunately, both waved back...well, one actually gave me the thumbs-up sign. Dang-near gave me goosebumps.

Tomorrow, the work week starts again and I can put on the more reasonable side of myself to Motor off to work.

What a versatile set of wheels!

I was amused and highly embarassed ('cause I've had my car for 15 months)when I noticed the color badge in my MINIs engine bay read "Oxygen Blue Solid." Solid???? Suddenly I was having "Undercover Brother" flashbacks!!! Does your plate say the same thing??? I'm not sure other non-metallic colors badges employ the word "solid."

Also....I have a big whoppin' MINI badge on my engine...do you? Seems some of the new Clubman folks have mentioned not having this. Just checking....

Yes I have the big MINI badge on my valve cover and that's correct solid is for non-metallic.

Great! That's the grill I want to install. I've read that the R56 OEM Cooper S grill doesn't fit the regular cooper. Where did you get yours, and did you have any problems installing it?

I confess that I think a totally blacked-out MINI w/ an OB body would look pretty awesome!

It would look good but I still like some chrome on the car altho I have that grill.

Carolina Cooper that is the JCW grill. You can get that at several vendors or the dealer. Just specify the JCW cooper grill.

If you go here http://www.outmotoring.com/ It was only $55.95 It took about at the most 5 minutes to change out. not hard at all. you will need a flathead screw driver. The wife and I love it because it was a great contrast to the black roof and stripes.

How often do you see 2 O2Blues in the wild?

Whelp, I had to take my MINI on vacation last week. Driving home, I went through Arkville NY in the Catskills. I walked around town marveling at the old archetecture, many of the buildings restored. I was just getting ready to leave when I saw a relative to my OB/W--an OB/B!

Does it belong to anyone here?

Thank you, DanF and Bluemotorfan. I did see the one at Outmotoring ... Will order soon. Just upgraded my sidemarkers to the honeycomb. Think those and the new grill will look good together.
