This is a goofy picture, but I kinda like it. The light was harsh so the big vans and the communications tower are pretty washed out, but tedscar really shines!

Another Blue mini on the block

I picked up my mini yesterday after a loooong 3 month wait! It was sure worth it. Beautiful weather here in the northeast this week-end and I think I spent most of it driving!! What a great car!!! And what a fabulous color...I am thrilled with it! I am a happy girl!

You will love your MINI!!

I have over 5,000 on mine, and it gets better each time I drive.
Enjoy!

Yay--good for you minimo! I KNOW you're going to love it. Funny--we had a similar weekend (except you've got less miles on yours). Fall colors are beautiful here as I'm sure they are there too! Your spec sheet reads like you've got a winner. Have lots of fun, but be careful out there (it's pretty easy to motor these MINIs up to high speeds )!

Okay, I'm definitely leaning toward the 02B. Now I need to decide: sunroof or no, black roof and stripes or white roof and stripes (I like the sport stripes), interior colors and seats. Just minor decisions, you know. I enjoy the sunroof on my current car but, man, mini people seem to complain about them a lot! I want comfortable seats, because of some back issues, but I don't know that the more expensive seats are the more comfortable--I need to do more seat comparisons. Black versus white trim--they both look awesome. Any thoughts, suggestions, comments, encouragement, ridicule?

Thanks!

Sunroof is a personal choice. I didn't get a sunroof because 1. I like my seat up high and 2. reduced head room if you ever plan to autoX and wear a helmet.

I can't really say if the standard or sport seats are more comfortable. I got the sport seat in cloth, which means no lumber adjustment. I find they are very comfortable though. You need to get either the cloth/leather combo or all leather sport seat to get the adjustable lumber. I have heard some in here say that the lumber adjustment is in the wrong spot, so they keep it all the way back. Can't speak from personal experience though on that.

As far as white or black roof goes, another personal choice. White is always going to be lower maintenance though. I got the black but I really like the white too. White seems to be more rare. Another bonus on the white is you will get white bonnet stripes. Even though my dealer has "fixed" the leaking windshield washer jets they continue to leak, which streaks the bonnet stripes. I would think this would show less on white stripes.

Good luck with you decision.

Why is the white lower maintenance? I think the white and the black both look good, so I don't think I can go wrong. What did you do in your interior with color lines, dash finish, etc.? Thanks for your help with this momentous decision.

i didn't get a sunroof because i read on the forums that they are loud and annoying. plus they don't seem to serve much purpose if you can roll the windows down. and people always say that the shade doesn't block out as much sun and heat as they'd like.

i was convinced i was going to get the white color scheme but my boyfriend changed my mind at the last minute and i am so happy with the black! every other oxygen blue i've seen has a white top, i've never seen another black so i like that part. plus i feel like it gives the oxygen blue a more aggressive look. it's all just personal taste though. overall, i'm really happy with my decision.

seats... i got the regular ones... i really have no idea. i like the sport seats and was going to get them but changed at the last minute to cut my payments down a little. it just didn't seem necessary since the regular seats are just fine. the sport seats give a little hug around the sides but i'm not sure if they are good on long distances. i'm sure you can find a thread somewhere.

good luck!

My husband and I stopped by MINI of Dallas this morning and they had 4 Oxygen Blues on the lot. Two of them had a white roof and 2 had body colored. All of them were sold, of course. I'm sorry that I didn't have my camera with me.

No OBs at Moritz...I'm glad to see the folks in Dallas still have an ounce of good taste. One always wonders.

Romo...good luck dialing in your MINI. You got the body color right...obviously your MINI design skills are more than adequate to sort out the rest.

Ever own a black car? Black is known for showing dust, scratches, water spots etc. Even though it is the roof, white always looks clean. I don't know at this point if the weeping windshield washer jet problem has been solved but my black stripes are almost always stained with streaks in hot weather.

For the color lines I got the standard grey no cost offering, which is slightly lighter than the top dash. I got the piano black dash. It shows lots of scratches and fingerprints but looks good clean. I'd have to say my favorite dashes are the standard checked S dash and dealer installed white and black checkered dash. All the dash options are nice though get what YOU like.

Yeah, my current car is solid black--looks dirty all the time. I like the black mini's but I don't want that. I do like the way the black looks with the blue, though and, if I get a sunroof, I think the sunroof looks good with the black roof. I'm still hoping to see an 02B in person before I decide but, being so remote, it's not looking good. I may just take a chance and order without seeing it. Live dangerously, you know?

First post, my oxy. blue from Perth, WA

G'day everyone, just thought I'd post a pic of my '07 Mini Cooper Chilli. It's my second MINI and I fell in love with the colour as soon as I saw it. Very retro I think. I've been told it's the only Oxygen blue example so far in Western Australia!

I just installed a black and white checkered dash on mine and it looks even better in person! I'll have to post a pic soon.

Agreed...I only saw one up at the dealership, but it was really very cool. I have English Oak myself which fits perfectly with what I wanted in my dream MINI.
