R56 R56 Week 16 production group
Thanks for the welcome.
I ordered a British Racing Green MCS, Black roof and stripes with no packages - got the sports suspension, LSD and DSC, and the MSFW for the cruise control. Cloth seats, piano black interior and that rear fog light because I had to fill in the console. It was very hard to not pick up sports package and the web spokes, but I stuck to a under 25K order point. Got the bridge spokes and figure I can always go back for wheels easily in the future.
I would love to be on the Liberty, but nothing has updated yet.

Looks like mine just finished production. This is getting to be exciting.
Thanks kimmc for the link to the shipping. I'm on the TURANDOT and its leaving from Southhampton. Looks like it got on the ship last night at 11PM. Way to go Johny English for working the OT to get me car there.

Now I have to figure out when Turandot sails. Hmm...

Newbie, first time post, and so excited
My Mini - Bloody Laney - is scheduled on the Liberty. Due to be in New York on the 30th. Hopefully it will be in my possession on Mother's day since my mom and two of her sisters are coming to visit me from out of town. So NJ on the 30th, then on the road from the VPC on May 2, at the dealer (Tate Annapolis) on the 4th and maybe one day for the additional dealer stuff to be put in?
I hope the other Minis on the Liberty will talk and socialize with Bloody L; she's probably very shy and quiet. I imagine most other minis will see her drinking gin and tonics at the bar right before dinner.
I had a great experience with ordering with Tate. I called on April 7th just as they were closing, they had my order in on April 9. They told me then 6-8 weeks (June 4th) and I was prepared for that. Then on April 11th, they called me to tell me that someone cancelled and I got their production spot so maybe I'll see it May 11th. On April 12, I was looking at the Owner's Lounge. I freaked out at first because it was the wrong color and specs (that was because miniusa.com hadn't updated with mine yet), the very patient MA told me not to worry and check back in a day or two. So I was still worried when I checked again and only 95% of my stuff was there. Again a very patient MA assured me that everything was there. Checked the forums and saw other people had the same situation, so calmed down once more.
Then the ball started to roll.
Friday the 13th, the car was scheduled to start production (partially why she's Bloody Laney)
April 17th the Bloody L was in the paint shop, putting her red dress on.
April 18th, Bloody L was complete
April 20th, She's on the boat.
Even at worse case scenario, if she doesn't get here until May 11th, I am SO happy with the time-table.

oops, that cut and paste didn't come out real well.
Also, I just noticed that the Liberty is heading to Baltimore after NY... which means it might be a few extra days if they unload my car in MD for distribution...

All aboard!
Here's a link to track our Liberty ship (I hope it works for y'all). When I looked tonight, the little red dot was still off the English coast, but at least it's in the water!

Put in your VIN number and hit track. Look at your Port of Destination. I read that Mini's go to the VPC and on the East coast that's only New York (technically New Jersey) and South Carolina. I didn't think they dock in Baltimore.

We were supposed to take delivery of a 2007 MC in late March (dealer stock) but there was a problem during delivery. Since this configuration was somewhat unique, we decided to just order a new one.
Dealer was great about getting a production slot for Week 16, and the car is now "awaiting transportation at port of exit" or something of the sort. Being on the West coast, I figure 4-5 weeks for delivery.
Car: MCS/Red/Black/Lounge leather/all options but sport suspension & nav

Our car is on the ship and on its way here. OL still shows awaiting production. But if I type the VIN on the WW site, I get that it left port on 4/23. Will arrive in the west coast around 5/12. Hope for delivery by end of May!
I'm so unsatisfied now. I got the paper work pretty much wrapped up at the dealer, signed a loan...but still a week or so to go!
Oh, I do have something useful to say! I would advise everyone to research all the products the dealer will try to sell you. Here's what I was offered. Some of these for some people are decent ideas. But they require some thought before you're sitting there at the desk. And while MSRP is tough to haggle, these should be easier.
10 yr(?) warranty
4th year of schedule maintencne
clear bra (propective plastic thing for front of bonnet, etc) (with warranty)
clear coat teflon thing for paint (with warranty including something for interior)
tire and wheel insurance
Lo-jac
Thanks for he tips. Did your MA offer you all of these things?
I asked my MA recently about clear bras and he didn't recommend them since they cost more to put on then it would to repaint the bumper.
I've done a bit of research on LoJack - it's fairly expensive ($700 for installation plus a monthly fee), and given some research I've done on the rate of theft for MINI's - ("According to NICB data, the 1989 Toyota Camry is the number one most frequently stolen car in the United States") I don't think it's worth it (famous last words?)

Any other these items, we could certainly spend pages discussing. It's very easy to say that they are gimmics that are pure profit for the dealers. I think that's a healthy attitude to start, but then analyze if in your case it is worth it.
In my case, my MA asked me only about Lo-Jac and the clear bra, things they would have to do installs for. Then the finance person went through the list with everything. She tried to convince me that Lo-Jac would pay for itself after 5(?) years because of insurance discounts. That would of course vary by state, etc.
By the way, there is a lot of discussion on here about the clear bra. A lot of people here swear by them (if not necessarily the dealer installed one).

Yeah, more times than I care to admit. All I get is "no tracking information is available for the cargo ID you entered." I hope that it's one of those stories where it got on some other shipping line and ASK MINI hasn't updated, but I don't want to put too much faith in that. Oh well, I just wanted to whine.
So my vehicle got through production by 4/20. Everyday since then I have tried putting my VIN in the WW site and am getting the same response that JohnnyF is getting "No tracking information is available for the cargo ID you entered."
However, I check the automated line and it states that my MCS is in transit. Anyone have an idea as to which vessel it might be on? If I have a few vessels to take a look at I might be able to figure out which one is headed my way.
