So much for being ahead of schedule

I called this afternoon after the tracking system came back online, and the guy told me that while my car "started production" back on 4/12, it actually just began the build process only this morning. Still, said it should be completed by this Thursday or Friday.

And then 10 days to get on a ship.

And then 10 days to arrive stateside.

And then onto a truck to my dealership...etcetc...

I've called a few times today and the system has been down every time. I just tried a few minutes ago and the associate told me it has been in and out the past hour but that it looks like today is a bust and recommended calling back tomorrow.

PRODUCTION COMPLETED!

To borrow an exclaimation from Skuzzy,

WOOOOOOOT!!!!

"Production is complete and your MINI is awaiting release to the carrier"

I'm trying to be good and wait a day or two before pestering a live person who may have details on when she'll get loaded up.

Anyone else completed yet?

That was quick. I called this morning and the automated system told me I am in the body shop and customer relations said they are still having problems with their system and couldn't get me any info. ASK-MINI is still saying that my ECD is 4/21 but I'm hoping that is a worst-case scenario and that it'll get finished in the next couple days.

Looks like I'm in week 16 also?!?!
She's in assembly, ECD 4/18 now

The automated system is working but when I talk to a live person, their system is down

I am so damn anxious it's not even funny.
Also a HC Boston ordered Mini

Specs: Oxygen Blue/Black, Just a Coop, CAS, Premium, Xenons, Ipod (Yeah, pretty basic, but that means I get to play with it more!) Boot stripes on order, Working on a custom sunroof graphic....

Awesome, congrats! Yes, that should count as a week 16 build. Our MINIs will probably be playmates for the whole trip! Good luck with the wait!

Looks like I am week 16 too. My mini has been built and is waiting to be shipped. Now for the long wait for it to get to California. I am trying not to call Ask Mini too much!

I ordered a pretty standard oxygen blue/white.

Elixir, welcome to NAM and our anxious bunch! Is it my imagination or is this week dedicated to the new colors, Oxygen Blue and Nightfire red?!?

We're approaching the really entertaining part, tracking them on the ship, as described here if you haven't seen...
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=70301

OK, not as entertaining as taking delivery!

I called the automated system this morning and my 'vehicle is in the paint shop' getting a nice nightfire red coat. Says it will be done by 4/19. Hopefully a ship end of this week or early next?

rooandren, thanks for posting the link. I decided to check it just in case... and it looks like I have been booked on the Tristan! It leaves today so I hope this information is correct and does not change.

I guess I might actually be week 15 because ask mini said that production started earlier than expected. But the man I talked to said production seemed to be taking longer than normal and my ECD was 4-16. I don't know why production would have taken longer and maybe the information was incorrect.

And I'm jealous that you are awaiting transport. I've got my fingers crossed that all the stars align and everything goes quickly/smoothly so that I can get it by May 11. If not I'll have to wait almost another week and a half before I can pick it up becuase of work-related travel.

Well, I don't understand how you would be in the shop but not be completed until 4/21? I thought production, including paintshop, was a few days. Good luck, you could make it, I hope!

I just talked to Ask-Mini (The system is back up now yay!) and I'm in final quality control!
Some other person is driving my Mini right now! I'll forgive him since he's making sure she works properly, but I'm super jealous......
Should be released to carrier by the end of the week they said!!

You got me excited and I called ASK-MINI to check my status but was told that the system is still down and hasn't been working at all today. Maybe the system just came back and they still haven't informed all staff? I guess I'll just have to pester them again in a couple hours.

The associate I talked to said that it's been up and and down all day. And when she tried it didn't work. Since my production got pushed back a week and the MFSW is 200 bucks cheaper now I added the white turn signal lenses. Just want to get confirmation that it was added as my MA is out today.

My wife says I have OCMD (obsessive compulsive MINI disease)

That's funny, my wife has been calling me obsessive compulsive for the last month since I ordered my MCS (given that I've been on Mini's website and/or NAM every day...)

I just called the automated line, said my car is in the body shop today, estimated completion 4/20. Which is the same completion date that a live advisor had given me back last Thursday, so I guess at least I'm still on schedule.

Looks like yours is hanging out with mine...I'm in paint and scheduled to be done 4/20.
I do the automated phone thing daily...I don't know what I'm going to do once it ends up on a boat.

Only daily? Since the system has been down the last two days I have been bugging customer relations every two to three hours. My fiance thinks I've lost it. I was in NYC for work last week which was the best thing possible because it kept me from checking on the status all the time. Unfortunately I'll be stuck at my desk for the rest of the waiting period... watching the minutes tick by agonizingly slowly...

I'm still in the body shop as of tonight. Even though I was told I entered production on Friday, tonight I was told that I entered production yesterday morning and won't be done until 4/20 at the earliest. He also said to expect 7-10 days until I get on a ship, but I'm hoping that is just a very generous estimate and that I could still make it on a ship by the beginning/middle of next week.

I think I am the only week 15 person. My mini is alone on that big ship!! I went into production 4/2 with a completion date of 4/15. It stayed like that till the 9th when OL said it was in the body shop it stayed there for while. They completion date went between the 14th and 15th. It completed on the 14th and got on a ship that was leaving that day. Right now he is on the Patriot due here in NY on the 23.

Love yr car name btw - I saw a BRG/W 2005 parked on the street tonight - sweet color!

I think once it's on the boat you are supposed to obsessively check the www.sailwx.info site to watch the ship crossing the ocean.

Really what MINI should do is put webcams througout the entire production and shipping process. That way you could log in to the OL and see a live shot of your car just sitting there waiting for you to drive it home.

Wow. Great news. When I ordered my car my MA told me it would be very possible to get it by the first week of May and it looks like you are one of those lucky ones. Its nice to see a quick turn-around time from production completion to being loaded on a ship. Customer relations told me it would take 7-10 days from production completion till being loaded on a ship. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for getting on a boat early next week so that I can have it the second weekend of May.

I'm making a commitment to not call ASK-MINI at all today. Hopefully if I can resist it, there will be something new to report tomorrow.
