Amazing. That's all I have to say. The car feels great. I drove it up the coastline through the north shore of MA tonight. Happy with everything and love the color combo (AB/B, piano black, anthracite headliner, redwood lounge leather). It's going to be pretty tough walking past it at 6:30am tomorrow as I ride public transportation to work. I can only hope to stay busy enough that the day goes by quickly.
I didn't think I'd notice the torque steer, as I've owned many FWD cars with more power than this one but it actually has more torque steer than any of my old cars. This kind of surprised me. Even without pushing the car (it's still under 100 miles) I was experiencing torque steer. I didn't get the LSD or DSC.
Still a big
and good luck to those still waiting. Can't wait for my order from DP to come in on Friday so that I can give it its first detail.

Mine came home tonight!
It's late, barely got to drive it more than a few miles, but it seems to be a lot of fun, and it's MINE!
And so far, no weird problems outside of a whining engine at the lower end. (Knock on wood, and fast...)

At long last - My NFR
65 days later...Picked it up yesterday. Besides a brief scare with the paint job (turned out to be nothing) it's perfect! The color is great - exactly what I was hoping it would be. A good dark red that only looks a bit orange in certain light. Photos attached...
I'm scheduled for delivery tomorrow according to the OL and have regressed to the port according to ASK_MINI. Haven't heard back from my MA, but at least the end is near.
Man, I'm beginning to think this is not meant to be-I got a call from my MA telling me the car would be in Tuesday or Wednesday (this was Tuesday). Today he called to let me know that he didn't have the car nor know when it was supposed to arrive. OL says scheduled for delivery on the 15th but I guess that's not going to happen. How accurate were your estimated delivery dates?
In spite of all the whining, glad to see you guys are getting in some quality motoring.

I didn't get mine 6 days after the date in the OL. It was behind the entire time I was waiting, but then was ahead on the delivery date.
Post pics when you get it - BRG is my second fav color after NFR

My MA told me that once the car gets released from the VDC, the transport (trucking) company that delivers the cars to the dealership will give the most accurate date as to when the car will arrive.
So if your car has been released from the VDC your MA should be able to tell you when your car is coming in.

jrunner--awesome and congrats! That is pretty much my favorite color combination, it's stunning!
johnnyf--I know it stinks, but it will happen soon! Don't give up faith! The OL had the date exactly right for getting to the dealer, but I couldn't take delivery for 5 days because the certificate of origin didn't show up for a while! So many factors, it could even be at the dealer and he is sparing you from telling you that it is just sitting there waiting to be registered, etc. I'm sure very, very soon you'll get good news.

Man, I do wish I could have sprung for the lounge leather after seeing those pictures. So nice...maybe next MINI.
Finally got some good news...my MINI is on a truck as of yesterday with an estimated delivery date today, so hopefully I can get some motoring in soon. I think I may just have to take some time off work once I take delivery.

Blown gasket
I got two phone calls this morning:
- 1st call
- Monty the truck driver - 'I am stuck in Montana until my blown head gasket is fixed. ETA unknown.'
- ' Me - 'OK, good luck with the gasket.'

- 5 minutes later
- Customer service representative - 'Hi, I am calling to see how you like your new Mini.'
- Me - 'It is stuck in Montana. How can I help you?'
- Customer service rep - 'Uh, I bet you can't wait to get your new mini?'
