He bought from an east coast dealer and is having it shipped cross country. I can see how that would sound confusing!

Laughingbudda, sorry to hear about your problems. Hopefully your car gets back on its way quickly.

As for me, I took an exceptionally long lunch yesterday to pick up my car. So far so good, but I didn't have much time to drive it yesterday. Didn't get home until after a bug-filled drive so no pictures just yet.

Thanks. Now I need to read up in the detailing forum-I've never really had a car that I cared about enough to worry about my washing technique.

I'll have 'em for this weekend, once I'm not leaving the house when it's dark in the morning and getting back when it's dark at night. That, and he's not getting any cleaner.

Always room for one more. It'll all be worth it once your car finally arrives.

+1

I had to spend about $300 bucks over at Detailer's Paradise to get everything I needed!

The laughmobile has arrived

Well the super hero car finally arrived after being waylaid in Montana. Covered in bug guts and I still could not keep the grin off my face. Wrong rims and I still could not keep the grin off my face. First mission for Lightning Man and Jaguar Man (my kids alter egos) was an ice cream run.

Here are some pics.

Back of the line

I think I am among the very last of the week 16s to take delivery. I'm picking up my MINI here in Portland, OR on Monday the 4th at 4 pm PDT. At last!!

Dang, that's not encouraging. Saw your car in the R56 pics thread-love that color.
I will actually post pics, assuming I'm around sometime during the daylight hours one of these weeks.

Thanks!
I think I've washed her at least once a week! My only complaint so far is that the oxygen blue color shows every bit of dirt possible But when clean, it's beautiful

Two more...

The color doesn't show up so well during a sunset and with the overcast, but you get the idea...

Johnny F,
That is a sweet color combo - my second choice after CR/B!

Thanks, glad you dig it. Almost ended up with CR/B, closely followed by LB/B and PW/b, and just about every other color. That was probably about the hardest choice I made along the way...

Lovely Johnny. And I'm surprised how few BRG there are. I always thought it was pretty popular, but I don't see many on the roads and there don't seem to be too many here.

Laughbudda-I can't remember if I said so elsewhere, but the decal project is awesome! Hope you are all enjoying.

Yeah, I had always just assumed BRG was a popular choice given the hostory and all, but it seems to be pretty rare. I guess that could be an issue come resale time but I'm just planning on driving the wheels off the thing anyway.

Hey Week 16-ers. Everyone should be motoring for a whole month now. Everything good? I haven't had the slightest problem (except pollen!!!).
I work from home these days but have been happily offering to drive the wifey to and from work every day!

I just got mine from the shop yesterday for a little buzz in the dashboard, and a grinding noise I get shifting from 1st to 2nd when I first start out driving. It was in for 3 days, though I'm not sure why it took that long because they didn't really do anything. They 'couldn't replicate' the shifting noise (though apparently there is a bulletin out about it, and now since my car is logged as having it, if any clutch/transmission issues appear, it should be covered), and they claimed the buzz was from stuff in my glove box. They did update some software, and the flat spot that I was having in 1st gear seems to have gone away.

I wish I was driving it more (I've only got 1400 miles on it), but next week is road trip week. Other than the issues above, it's been great. And he finally told me his name! SPIKE!

Hee, Spike, love it!

I'd say you've got a good number of miles, I'm a bit over 1500. But it's never enough. Hope those issues clear up and you're not too frustrated with the service. Did ya clear out that glove box!?!
