BRG/W and Lounge Red interior?

I got an email from my MA about a BRG/W MCS at the dealership and I could come by and check it out so I could see what my car looks like inperson, so I took her up on it yesterday. When I got there I was shocked to see it had the Lounge Red interior. I didn't think this was even possible because the two colors don't go together I guess we have the rarest R56 out there, right

They'll let you order red with BRG according to the web site. It is an interesting combination. You can't get Rooster Red, but the lounger red is a possibility. I bet it will actually look pretty good in a funky sort of way. But I bet it's extremely uncommon.

So I don't quite understand... you intentionally ordered that combo, yes?

So did you like it?

I think it sounds interesting. Definately has potential. I'd love to see pics.

No, this isn't my car but rather a car in the exterior color combo I ordered and she told me to come down and see it person so I could "kinda" see my car The car will be there for another month as the owner is out of town and I'll try and snap some photos of this "rare" MCS.

I looked at that combination for the longest time - love British Racing Green, really the best color for the Mini, but also love the red leather.

As I did not want to drive a Christmas Tree ornament, I ended up buying Black exterior with the red leather - but would love to see pictures of the car, any chance to sneak back with a digital camera?

Black with lounge red should be very nice! I spec'ed black English leather black interior w/my '06, which I think works very well w/BRG exterior.

I'm impressed with the multiple options on colors, textures available on R56's. But Lounge Red w/BRG? I'd like to see pictures, too.

That's one of the color combos I'm considering as a nostalgic throw back to an old BRG TR-6 I had with tan interior. The biege is too light, and the lounge red really isn't a true red, at least to me. I like your choice from what I've seen at my dealer. Hope you like it.

Braman MINI in Miami has a BRG/BRG R56 MCS with the red lounge seats. I saw it Saturday and to be honest I liked the combo. Not for everyone though. It is funky/groovy in its own bizarre way. Didn't have the camera with me unfortunately.

It reminds me of those big swirled lollipops we all used to crave in our childhoods.

is lounge red really red? it's actually *redwood* red so more like a very dark tan to me. i think it looks fantastic w/ brg. most "tan" upholstery in cars nowadays are so light to be inoffensive they're boring. i think they should let you order whatever color combo you want, no matter how *wacky* it may seem to some people. but $1900 for leather seats, that's a lot

I suppose if one ordered a BRG MINI with red interior it would have to be named "Tannenbaum"! That said, I looked at the Leather Lounge seats in black and redwood red. The black were better IMHO. The red was kind of funky. With BRG, I think the Tuscan beige seats would look very nice. Or a custom leather with black and beige.

But, $1900 for leather is ridiculous. Here in the DC area, they is a guy who can do MINI seats for half that, and do custom stiching and colors as well.

The problem with the Tuscan or Redwood seats is all that Tuscan or Redwood plastic (especially the Tuscan). The configurator doesn't show you just how much of that beige plastic is in the car.

If I were to order a new R56 MCS today (NEVER!, ha!) I most likely would go with BRG/BRG, chrome bits and red lounge seats.

People will be scratching their heads when they see that car.

(Reminds me of a '06 Hot Orange convertible, with blue top and cordoba beige seats/interior that I also saw at the dealership on Saturday)

That was the first combo I wanted (with the oak trim). That's the one thing I regret (since it now looks like I'll be getting the wife an '06 MCS vert). Ended up with Chili Red and black lounge.

I'd be curious, who's the guy in the DC area that does the seats? Thanks.
