Mmm, I have had unconfirmed sightings of half a dozen NFR in that situation described thar.

I shared these a ways back, nothing in the past monthl. There was one hardtop in my hood, which either lives near or was going to the nearby dealer. The second was a ragtop rental car (Zipcar carsharing service thang.)

Cool!

I know there have been NFR's sold at our local Mini dispensing unit, but I have not seen any of them.

Hey Peeps....Secretary Dennis got wind of another possible member of the NFR Support Group. I'm not certain yet of the relationship has been conceived yet, but when the order goes in..hopefully we'll have a new member of the family....Keep your eyes open for CoryS....Tell him Secretary Dennis welcomes him...to a crazy crew!

Present and accounted for. I'm maybe days away from placing my order. Is it possible to get cloth seats with Nightfire Red? The Mini site doesn't seem to allow it during the online build.

Check with the local dealer CoryS. Apparently, they can order some interior combinations you cannot do on the Mini configurator site.

And welcome to the funneh farm!

Welcome and good luck with order and wait CoryS! Looks like you got a good range of input in your order thread. Let us know what ya decide on!

I think I have to have a talk with my MINI, Mia. It looks like I'm going to have a good job opportunity that would be a 35 mile commute, half hour going there, and possibly an unavoidable 90 minutes coming back! No public trans possible. This could get tricky. Need to see how she feels about it!

Good luck with that rooandren. Romi wishes she had a longer commute. But she is not wild about stop and go traffic.

For the first time since we have come together, we got to get onto a freeway entrance ramp with absolutely no one in front of us. Romi cut loose and hit 5500RPM during those upshifts! WOOT! She enjoyed that almost as must as I did!

Oh, and a couple of days ago, we celebrated crossing 2,000 miles. It was a nice event.

Roo...sounds like some good quality time with Mia...I'm looking for jobs far away from work (I live about a 5 min walk away right now).....so Bubbles and I can actually go somewhere....

CoryS....there are a few peop's who got cloth seats...you'll find the configurator won't have everything possible on it....

Thanks. Looks like I can get Checkered Carbon Black Cloth which is probably what I'll do. The last question I have is does Piano Black interior trim look better than Brushed Alloy with the Checkered Carbon Black Cloth or does Brushed Alloy look better?

For me it was simple. I was going to get brushed alloy, but you can't get it on the MC in Canada...only on the S! So it was silver or black...I love the look of the black...but didn't at first. If I could of, I would have got the brushed alloy.

The Piano black is pretty, but it scratches easily. If you are looking for something that wears well, it may not be something you want.

I see a lot of discussion on how to remove scratches from it.

OK, guys, I need your support again! I took Chessie on the road to the hill country over the weekend. Unfortunately, it rained almost the whole time. We hydroplaned several times, but never lost control or even swerved. After driving a minivan for several years, the hydroplaning was a surprise. I have DSC and run-flat tires. Considering that & the weight (or lack thereof) of the car, was our experience "normal"?

As always, thanks for your support!!

Which run-flats? Goodyear or Dunlop?

Romi has the Dunlop runflat and they seem ok for wet weather. But not great.

That's scary and unfortunate. I don't have runflats, haven't driven in much significant rain, but haven't heard any significant stories around here to make it sound like a widespread problem.
My wild guess is you need to get used to the difference of how she handles due to the different weight and wheelbase. Could it be that your minivan truly handles better in water?

I haven't had much trouble with my runflats, but I used to have Dunlop tires on a Toyota Supra, and they were the worst tires I ever had in the rain. I've never gone back to Dunlop since.

Here in Canada, I have Continental run-flats....I don't even know what they are! hahaha....I haven't got that far down the car yet...still working on the door handles!!!!!

Ok...after a wee bit of internetting, I found that Dunlop Tire is owned by Goodyear.....go figure....and Continental Tires is a German=based company....but still, the conspiracy theorist in me still thinks all tires pop off the same donut factory....

Actually, these are Continental....ContiProContact. I just went to their website and to tirerack.com. The tires seem to be rated pretty high for wet and dry. Maybe I'm just overly sensitive after driving a heavier vehicle for so long....and there WAS a fair amount of water ON the road. Thanks to all of you for your feedback.

I find that Coops have a fair bit of what people tend to call "front end torque"...it seems that the car goes where it wants to...and you have to hang onto the steering wheel at certain times. The cars are famous for this....it's a matter of learning to drive a little differently...

That would be an effect created by the tires actually. Romi goes where I point her and likes to track straight with little steering input.

Some tire patterns can cause the feeling of floating about on the road and require constant inputs from the driver to maintain a line.

Side note: The CNC Mill is scheduled to depart the factory this Friday!! WOOT! So I should have it next week!!! WOOT! WOOT!

I have a reminded/heightened awareness of Mia's responsievness now. Drove a Chevy Malibu rental the last couple days. It's like driving a water bed.

I am very interested to see how she handles in the winter. There's a couple
of extremely steep hills nearby, but fortunately they're all avoidable.
