R56 The Official Nightfire Red Owners Club
Ok...time for a role call of the NFR Support Group. And, I can't remember everyone's car names or their arrival order! HELP!
1) rooandren born MIA
2) Skuzzy born ROMI
then...
Muse born MUSE
Kimmc born ????
twings born CHESSIE
dennisd63 born BUBBLES
Minimobile born ????
Shaka born LUV-SHAK
So far that makes 8 of us, and missing 2 names. There were 18 shipped to North America out of the first run of NFR. Anybody know where the others are? Anyone know when the next order of NFR is due to arrive? We're going to hit the next generation gap soon!

Well, I never quite understood what "the first 18" meant. Within the last month, there was another at Skuzzy's dealer, mine was supposed to get a cabrio (I never saw it), and I have seen two in Boston now. So there's got to be lots on the road (relatively speaking). I saw one yesterday in my hood, but I don't know if she lived here or because the dealer is down the road from me!
I found out that North America received 18 NFR's out of the first production week for them. Mine was one of them, as I'm sure most of your's have been?
7 came to Canada, and mine was the first sold. 11 went to USA.
And does anybody know what kimmc or minimobile named their cars?

Nice!
Well, looks like I will ifinally get Romi over her breaak-in miles after this weekend. The Wife unit and I are prepping for a trip to Austin, then to New Braunfels for some river rafting. Round trip will be around 500 mils and Romi crossed 800 this morning! WOOT! I am soooooooo looking forward to having my way with her.
Uh,..hmmm,..ya know what? Anything I say after that is going to just be taken sooo badly I think I will just shut up now.

Sounds great Skuzzy. Is this in leui of your private escape with Romi? I learned my lesson back there somewhere about taking things you say literally, so I thought you were serious!
I've got something like 40 miles left for break in! (So, within any reasonable estimation of tolerance, yes, I am broken in, but a benchmark nonetheless.) Now I'll finally figure out this sport button. In the auto, it revs awfully high while accelerating (like up to 4K getting out of 1st)! The steptronic trans (which also activates sports mode) is fun. But 95% of the time optimizing mpg is good with me, and I figure the auto does a good job of that.
Oh, and I think my mpg in similar drying conditions went up 9 mpg from 0 miles to 1200 miles on the odometer! Whatever it was, it was significant, so that is some good evidence against those guys who say almost all breakin is in the first 20 miles.

Hi, All,
I've been out of town,.....I've missed you all, but have to say I missed Chessie more. Parking her at the airport was HARD, but she came through without a scratch.
Rooandren, Mia is GORGEOUS!!! And thanks for the compliments on Chessie.
[quote=dennisd63]... Only problem I've had so far, is that his cooling fan starts up every time I show him a picture of Chessie! I think he's just hypnotized by the color white, but who I am to tell him how to live his life?
Dennis, you may need to get blinders for Bubbles.....

Gruene...I travel to San Antonio every once in a while and we went up to Gruene...awesome restaurant with the best catfish (only catfish) I've ever had! I'm jealous Skuzzy..I want to get back there soon!
OOH OHHH...I've got my first scratch! My dog jumped in the back of Bubbles and scratched the paint on the rear bumper...so it begins!

I try to stay away from that endless time vacuum.
Have a great weekend trip with your fab ladies!
The trip may get cancelled as there is another threat of 1 inch hail. And we booked this trip 2 months ago, non-refundable rooms of course.
I am getting really close to just selling the house and moving. There appears to be no end in sight for this stupid weather. Getting really sick of the hail threats every day.

I guess the Lexus hasn't been relegated to "beater" status?
Very sorry dood, hopefully the reports will change.
So what do you do with Romi at work everyday when there's these threats? Sorry if you 'splained that already.

Told the boss today if the threat looks like it is going to come anywhere close to Grapevine, I am going home. It is only a 1.2 mile hop.
Romi already got hailed on once, but it was pea size and did not hurt her. But it damn near tore me up to watch it beat on her.

[quote=rooandren;1575594]Thanks, the pic above with the driving lamps ain't mine though, that's a brit's from mini2.com. I'm jealous of that stone driveway! (or anyone with a garage, or a driveway at all to wash your MINI...we're in this apartment til next fall, and weren't sure if we'd stay in the city or move out...I think this cinches it!) I'm sure Chessie missed you too!
Yep, I was talking about the pics of Mia and her godmother. Mia's prettier than the one from mini2.

('Ya still can't get four full cases back there, but three cases broken up works...this is a calculation for bottles, I would have no idea about cans)
