Another Test Drive Thread

hello all I will first say that i am writing from my perspective about my impressions and experiences. That being said:
I went yesterday evening to see the R56. Unfortunatley I had plans so I could not make it that day as I had hoped to although there was a reasonable amount of light on the lot and plenty in the the showroom.
I drove an MCS with Premium.
#1- the wheel gap wasn't unbearable however it was undesirable although with some bigger wheels and a lowering kit that will be fixed.
#2- I didnt hate the center console granted i didnt fool with the radio so I dont know how functional the design is, but I didnt hate it.
#3- It is fast all around. I forgot about the sport button until the end of my drive and once I pushed it I had wished it was on the whole time, It really does make a difference.
#4- Shifts were short and precise everything felt very smooth (except of course when I put in Reverse on accident at a red light I was just so used to all the way left and up is 1st. Will take a little getting used to 6 gears seeing as I only got into 5th to see if the car still had the pull at low revs and it did
#5- No noticable gap problems the bonnet fitted well and everything was even
minor things- the mood lighting was ok. I plan on doing some LED lighting in the footwells and boot so that will compliment nicely. the leather was nice esp. with the colorline, but I will stick with leatherette as it was quite nice for a no cost option. I will not be speccing the sunroof due to the 1.5 inches it cuts out of my head room. The clutch seemed a little devoid of feedback, as did the steering until the sport button was pushed. I pushed the car on the onramp and it felt bored. I think i will be speccing the sport suspension and 17" to feel the ride a bit more. i want to make it clear despite all the little things I may not think are perfect I GOT OUT OF THE CAR LIKE THIS:
The R56 imo is a great car stock and will get even better with the aftermarket. Thanks for reading, I appreciate good honest comments

I agree...the sport button makes a huge difference!! I predict someone will generate a mod early on to have that thing normalled "on!" My only problem with the R56 MCS is that I would find it impossible to drive w/o breaking the law. Many will have a lot of fun trying, though.

To get mine into reverse, I have to apply significant pressure. Nothing alarming, but I'm more likely to hit 1st gear trying to get into reverse.

It's got decent pull in 6th gear as well. If I normally drove over 75 MPH, I'd be wanting a 7th gear.

So the Sport button doesn't remember whether it was on or off last time the car ran? In other word, one would have to hit Sport button everytime they start up the car?

If you want it on, you have to turn it on ...every time.

Sounds like a simple enough task.

As Gokartride said, Someone will surely come up with a mod to have it on all the time automatically just as they had the DSC switched off
