Great picture of the port!!! I called ASK MINI today and they told me my boo boo is going from Oxford to South Hampton Port!!! I'm so excited!!! I can't wait for its arrival at Charleston!!!!!!! I'm so giddy about this!!! MINI does such a great job of involving the customers with the MINI process!! I love it!

 

My schedule seems to be exactly the same as yours. I was also in the body shop yesterday. I called this morning and my MINI is still in the body shop, and the estimated completion date has been changed from 3/5 to 3/6. Did you call yet today?

 

Mine is "transporting to the exit port" as well, our Mini's must be on the same train

It's also possible that mine is actually IN the paint shop today but its status hasn't been updated to MINI USAs reps yet. All these updates do not happen in real time. THere is a lag, not sure of how long, because of the nature of the batch updates they do. For example, if it's every 6 hours, if my car went into the paint shop just after the last update this morning, it might be in there most of the day but MiniUSA won't know until the next time the computers talk to each other, 5 1/2 hours later (or whatever the span of time is).

The Owner's Lounge is on a roughly 2-3 day gap between updates, so if one went by that alone, they could have been finished, sent to the port, and loaded on a ship in the span of a single update. "Scheduled For Production" to "In Transit" in a day is how it would look, and what an exciting day that would be! :-)

 

Your car probably is in the paint shop since your completion date is still 3/5, while mine has been pushed back to 3/6 (so I guess mine is still in the body shop).

 

According to my MA, my MINI is also scheduled for week 10 production, but neither the web site nor ASKMINI have a production date for me!! Is this normal?

Just spoke with ASK MINI, my car as of 02/28 was going through QC. So hopefully by now it's on its way to the port to take the journey across the pond.

For those of you who may not know and want to get a liitle more excited about your pending new arrival, the 2007 Owners Manual is now available on-line in the MINI owners lounge. You can view online or download to your computer. Good way to get a jump on features such as displays in the speedometer and "revolution-counter." Also for the options you'll have in programming some of the neat features (like keyless go-comfort access). Have fun browsing!

Just found out from OL that my Mini is "awaiting transport", looks like our Minis will be hanging out together on the boat in the next several weeks

Vehicle Production Status on AskMINI just told me:

"Your vehicle is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel."

 

That's the case for me as well, MA said week 10 but nothing in owners lounge or askmini. Hopefully it'll start next week.

I've noticed that there are a few in the week 10 thread that were moved to earlier build weeks, so they'll have there's done or in progress during week 10. I check every day.

 

Still in the paint shop today... all day. Must be a heck of a job they do in there.

Next step is assembly, and should be tomorrow. I met with my MA today and he said except for 4 hours on Sundays (for maintenance) the plant operates 24/7! He expects it to be done Monday. Hang in there all you waiters!

 

Don't fret, I was told week 9. Up until yesterday no-one knew anything, now I'm ready to be finished March 6th.

 

Just curious/ My U.S. car docks in New Jersey. Are there other ports for different sections of USA?

 

I know there's another VDC in California.

 

There is also one in South Carolina that services the southeast. I think it's in Charlottesville, but I don't recall offhand.

 

I'm still right behind you, jmelrose. My car went into the paint shop yesterday and is still there today. Estimated completion date one day after yours (3/6).
