R56 R56 Week 10 Production Group
In the owner's lounge they have a movie about the making of a Mini. It's a rather dry piece, but they paint it before adding everything else because 1: it's less taping work to do. (The paint the whole body framework at once, inside and out, doesn't matter, and then only have to tape the roof off to paint it the assigned color.) and 2: They have access to all the nooks/crannies before they get filled in with kit. The paint provides corrosion protection as well, so they don't want any of the body unpainted for fear of that being a point where rust would begin.
Azn,
When did yours start production?
I think it depends on the week it completes production during. I was told by ASK MINI that it's usually 2 weeks from "Production Start" to "Ship" so you may still make it.
If not, I'll visit you on the "R56 Week 9 Production Group" thread, I promise!

My car was ordered back in November (aznqtboy984, I share your pain) through a family friend who owns his own professional buying/leasing company. He shopped around the US to find me the best price and all I know is that my Mini S was ordered from somewhere on the east coast.
Yes, I probably got a pretty good price, but this guy is extremely frustrating when it comes to finding information about my car. I still don't have a dang VIN number and don't think I'll ever be privy to one.
I called my local Mini Cooper dealership the other day and they told me that Minis with a nav system would be in March production, April delivery. Does this mean I am in the 10 club or should I take my problems elsewhere
?

Do you have at least a production number? If so, you can call 1-866-ASK-MINI and they can tell you more info about your MINI.
I received my VIN today (2/27) and production began today as well.
Now we're cookin' !
But now comes the hardest part ...waiting and not being able to make any more changes. I drove my MA crazy with changes.

Apparently, "Production Start" means the paperwork is started in Oxford and the parts are being gathered from the bins. No sheet metal is "mine" though.
Mini USA today told me still due to be completed by 3/10.
Yesss!!! Just got off the phone with Dan at ASK MINI, he said my Pepper White MCS is completed and awaiting shipment, which he says will maybe be 1 or two weeks of waiting. Then Dan said it will be directly shipped to the West Coast (I'm guessing Long Beach) and then here at South Bay Mini!!! 3-4 weeks?? I can't wait!!!!
I called this morning and production started yesterday... production was still started today. That was it.

R56 Week 10 Production Group
Hello fellow Week 10ers! Our babies are about to birth. All I have thus far is a tentative week 10 production, not yet scheduled. Got this info both from my MA and from Ask MINI. Will be delighted once it goes into production. Mine will be dark silver/black stripes with most of the goodies added on.

I try to repeat (and repeat, and repeat) this mantra everyday, "Lauren, patience is a virtue," but somehow I can't help but feel like this :impatient everytime I see a Mini or think of my Mini (which I do almost every minute)!!!

Oh well, the waiting continues.
