R56 R56 Week 10 Production Group
Pick mine up today!!
I pick up my BRG MC today!! It's been a long wait. Ordered in Nov. Had MFSW problem, reordered. When delivery was to be 3/31, the carrier noticed a small scratch in the bumper and wouldn't carry it to the dealer and gave it back to the VDC, who replaced the bumper. Now the wait is over. My MA (top notch mini of nashville!!) called me friday as it was being off loaded from the truck!!
Bummer is I have Jury duty this week and don't know when I'll get to take the 80 mile trip up to Nashville.
MA is great, says come up, he stay late after closing if necessary, so I'll probably go today. Hopefully I won't get a six month trial sequestered in a jury....

Dealer says the work is to be completed tomorrow... meaning the glove box liner gets installed and the car sent on its way!
He thinks delivery by the end of the week if possible, providing it catches a truck pretty quickly! Then it's iPod installation and time to motor!!

Congrats to glangford!
jmelrose - your motoring moment is almost here!
I know many have ordered Sat Nav on here, so I just wanted to share my review of it:

IMO it's been the best option I've spec'd!

Still not on a truck yet. THe wait continues. Dealer doesn't know when it will be on its way. Not happy camper. Again. I had to reschedule getting the windows tinted AGAIN and put off the sale of my car and its detailing prior to the sale AGAIN. Let's review the timetable:
Build started Feb 26ish. Entered production then.
Went to port 3/6/07
Shipped out around 3/18/07
Arrived SC 3/31/07
According to the OL, it is scheduled to be delivered 4/9/07. It is also still at the VDC.
Sometime after arriving, the JCW Aero Kit was installed, and the glove box liner was found to be uninstalled. A replacement was ordered. From Oxford.
Work completed 4/16 or 4/17 (not sure)
Car still not scheduled for transport as of 4/19. It's on the list to go, there's apparently no trucks to take it.
Good thing I wasn't planning to attend the Mini rally in Clermont this Sunday. I'd look silly driving it in a Honda Civic. :-(
The guy who is doing my window tinting IS insistent, however, that BMW is a corporation that employs very highly trained professionals. However, those professional may actually be monkeys (with German accents). I'm not convinced, except maybe for the accents part. He is British, drives a Mini, and swears I'll be happy once the car arrives. I am convinced of that part, thanks to NAM. However, being convinced of it does not make this wait in any way easier. Is anyone else in the Week 10 or 11 group still waiting on their car?

Jmelrose,
My Mini is still at the VDC. They have to replace all the locks and the start module since they have lost my key. According to my MA this will take a while (it's been almost 4 weeks). So they are giving me a iPod adapter for free to keep me happy, it's better than nothing I guess. I say keep harrassing them (MA, dealer and MiniUSA) and see if you can get things moving quicker. My Mini is also at the Charleston VDC, seems like they have some issues with poor communication to dealers.

Good to know. I finally contacted MiniUSA since these problems i'm having stem from them, and not my dealership, and I'm tired of my MA having to apologize for things he can't control.
Thanks, GL
Thanks, GL
My situation has gone from bad, to awful, to even worse. I've started a new thread about it here, as I'm really torn and confused over the whole situation, and am looking for advice or suggestions.

Thanks to all who have been following my car's misadventures. My dealership's sales manager told me he'd seen only 2-3 as badly messed-up orders in his 20 years at BMW. And that there wasn't anything he could or would do about it. Reassuring.

Congrats Shadowgram and jmelrose!! You 2 have had a long wait. I must have just missed the Charleston chaos, as I am a week 10er too. I picked up my Bea the first week of April (though I didn't have any VDC add ons.
Glad your MINIs are home now. You will find that it was worth the wait!
Wishing you both many happy motoring miles!!
