I am probably going to take a bit longer to get through the VDC due to my JCW Aero Kit being installed there instead of the dealer. Saves me 500 dollars at the cost of zipping through there, maybe? I don't know. My MA tells me stuff and I just believe him.

On the upside I'll be glad to post my photos of the SatNav with ipod interface once I get it. I've been told the black driving lamps are on backorder so I will likely not have those on the car when I pick it up. :( Sad times. I'm also trying to get definitive word regarding Sirius Satellite radio dealer install kits: anyone know if dealers are getting them in stock now, or are those saying they have them mistakenly referring to the R53 kit as the R56 one?

 

Just wondering how many of Minis on the Patiriot are now in the owners hand, Thanks in advance!

I picked mine up 3/31.

 

Mine was on the Patriot and my expected arrival date was 3/31. I have not taken delivery yet. I will pick mine at Bill Jacobs in Naperville, IL on Friday, 4/6. Good Luck!

As I'm waiting patiently for My Mini on board Golden Fan...I'm getting tired of people's negative reaction when I tell them YES I'm getting a MINI! Anybody else with similiar reaction?

 

Not a one here... everyone I've talked with can't wait to see it. There are lots around me though, so maybe that helps.

 

Maybe i should move to orlando then...i live in Tampa. I do have couple of good reaction from people however last night ya pretty negative.

 

Well, the SUV/Hummer crowd will NEVER get the appeal of such a small car. But, different market aim in that crowd. Someone with a family of 4 kids, 2 adults, and lugging soccer gear all over the place would have that reaction, and they just can't see the Mini meeting their needs, therefore why would ANYONE want it. We are all the center of our own universes... except rock stars. They love EVERYONE.

You're getting a great car... don't let others get you down.

 

I bought my 2004 MCS that I'm currently driving at Downtown Mini in Orlando. I now live in San Jose, CA and spent a short while in Nashville, TN. Most everyone I've met in any place has really loved it and can't wait to see the new one.

Oh, and for the record, we have 4 kids and are constantly hauling soccer and baseball gear around. Of course, we also have a Volvo SUV if we all need to go somewhere at the same time, but if it's 4 people or less everyone loves going in the "clown car."

 

See, and that's great! I just think that people prioritize what they want from a car, and for most people they want a "swiss army" car: do as much as possible, comfortably, for the money. For anyone with a family, that usually means space, which is clearly something the Mini (by definition) lacks! (And explains the popularity of the SUV.) Plus, bigger to many means "safety" and therefore small must mean "unsafe." A fallacy, but a common one, I believe. Therefore, when someone with that mindset considers a Mini, the first response would be "Why THAT?" Then it's time to preach the gospel of go-kart handling, 0-60 in under 6 seconds, etc, (AND SAFETY) and even if it's not the car for them, they might understand why YOU want one. (You, in this case, being Nido.)

Thanks for all the support..I am very excited on getting my MINI next week. I just checked my status and still says "En Route".

Majority of peoples reaction is negative since now i currently drive 350Z. I've had it for 4 years and got pretty high mileage over 70k. Its up for sale if anybody is interested!

 

My status is unchanged as well. I'll give the dealership a call today to see if they have any news.

 

The status on the Mini site is usually 2 or 3 days behind at best.

I'm currently hammering the W&W site with refreshes to see if my car is ever unloaded. It is currently showing that Basil is still on board. Once it is off, I'll call my MA for an update. Hopefully, there really is this "Priority 1" status. Otherwise, I might need medical attention.

I'm pretty sure my MINI was on the Golden Fan (arrived 3/31 to Charleston).
Checked with my MA today and status was "released to carrier". YaY!! MINI on the way!!!

 

MA just called...Mini released to carrier..delivery as early as Friday!!! Two more days! oh and ya it was on Golden Fan

 

Nice. Mine is, "@ the processing center waiting to get the aero kit installed." So says my dealer via email just a moment ago.

 

My status in OL is still enroute also, but I should be in this group also. My MA is off today, so I'll call him tomorrow and find out if it's on the way. It's going to be so fine to start the car and drive away, everyday.

 

Sweet! My Mini made it from VDC to Dealer in 3 days! Picking it up Friday...just hope I can sleep before then!

 

Does anyone whose mini was unloaded today at Port Hueneme (Vessel: Maersk Wind) have an official status other than 'en route'? Seems as though the ship has unloaded its cargo and departed to Tacoma WA, but the tracking system still shows the vehicle 'en route'.

 

Mine was on the Trianon which came into Port Hueneme on Sunday. Tracking system didn't change until today and states "at VDC" when in fact it is already at the dealer.

ok now i have delivery date 4/8/07 meanwhile my MA said i might get it 4/6 or 4/7...hope delivery date is wrong!!

 

OL shows my delivery date as 4/9, but that's just delivery to the dealer. How long the dealer takes depends on installs, how many other cars they have to get ready, etc.

4/8 being Easter, I doubt much will happen then! But I'll hope for you!!
