R56 R56 Week 10 Production Group
Mine was on the Golden Fan as well and was released this morning and is on a truck heading to Baton Rouge as we speak. My Dealer said I should be able to pick her up on Sat around Noon. I can't wait!!!
I just received a message from my MA that my car was delivered today, and they should start prepping it tomorrow. Sounds like I can be motoring Monday evening if all goes well. I will post some pics as soon as possible in the R56 picture thread, and Pure Silver picture thread. It has been really fun watching all the forums and the concerns which are about to be lived out now, but I will continue to add my feedback on here when it may be of some value to others.
Hey AaronH-
Did you get your baby yet? Do you have photos? I'll need to check back through this thread. Mine are in the link down below now!

NICE! You have most of what I have but I don't have "all the packages" and they started charging for the white turn signals so I decided to wait on those and do it myself. I did get the black roof/mirrors, redwood leather, piano black, cold weather package, dual sunroof, and anthracite header. The reason I asked about the header is I was SOOOO happy that I made that choice. It makes a HUGE difference in the ambiance of the inside and adds to the "sexiness" of the black and red. I love it so much more than I even imagined that I would! I hope you do too and yes, let's show some photos! Like I said, I'll have more up this week.
Well I spoke with my MA yesterday and I will be picking up my mini on Monday around 5pm. I'll post pics once I get her. Those 2 months did go by pretty fast though.
My MA went out of town Fri/Sat this week. However, my MCSa was to be shipped from the VDC Saturday, get into the dealership Monday... I'm hoping it will have arrived early in the morning. There's not much to install, just the rear bumper protection and the iPod interface, the driving lamps are still on backorder <grumble, grumble>.
So I hope to get it Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm guessing Monday is a bit quick a turnaround time! I just hope it lives up to the expectations I've built up for it!! Now I have nightmares of getting a "lemon".

My Mini arrived at the dealership Friday night!! Unfortunately, all of the service techs are off for the holiday weekend.
I DID, however, take a ride out to have a look!! I am really psyched!! I ordered the Oxygen BLue, with white roof and bonnet stripes, and I am really thhrilled with the color. It is exactly what I was hoping it would be - kind of an "old school" color. I know that the dealership will be swamped on Monday, with the weekend backlog of cars to prep, but I'm hoping to pick it up on Tuesday!!!VROOM!!
I will post pics when she is all clean and shiny!!

Sadly, I am still waiting for my Mini to arrive (has been sitting at the VDC for over a week now). Visited my MA to get some trade-in paper work done and was told that it will arrive sometime this week. I was told it will be ready for pickup by Tuesday but it's looking like Friday or later
. Apparently they cannot get even Mini/BMW to get on a truck for Chicago. I just can't understand what's going on (begin to wonder if there is something wrong with my Mini during shipping).
For those who is picking up your Mini congrats and please post pictures

Well, one more week... again
Car's still at the VDC. This roller coaster ride just sucks. Dealer expects it to be done having the Aero Kit installed today, and to him by Friday. Driving lamps are still backordered. *grumble grumble*. Anyone know if those come with covers?
Guaranteed I'll die the day before it's to be picked up. Something has to delay my getting the Mini further!

As of Saturday's update, I'm still at the VDC. The OL is telling me that it will be delivered by Saturday the 14th. The MA told me it is scheduled to be released from the VDC by April 12th. However, he also told me that other cars scheduled to be released on the 11th were released last Thursday and figures mine would really be out Friday or today.
So, no I don't have it yet, but the dealer is estimating it will be in and ready for pickup between Tuesday and Friday at the lastest. I'm going to call this afternoon and see if there has been an update on the VDC release.
I am all a-twitter with anticipation.

So by the day's end today, my dealer still has no info about when it's due in. AND he has the day off tomorrow, and has told me not to ask any of the other the other MAs because they apparently can't tell when the MINI will be in as well as he can. So I'll be in the dark all day tomorrow. By now, I have heard "it should be on its way soon" SO many times now I've stopped believing, and almost stopped caring. I'm sure it'll be great once it arrives... (it sure as hell better be), but geez I'm sure not enjoying this part of the process anymore. And, again, I wish I got a bit more sympathetic interaction with my dealer. He's surrounded by these cars every day, maybe he's forgotten how painful the wait can be in anticipation of a new one. I'm tired of hearing, "Be patient! I'll be here soon."
September 17, 2006: The date I first contacted my MA and said, "I'm interested... sign me up for an 07!" It will be over 7 months I'll have waited since then to get the car. Hopefully not much longer!!
By the way, according to Mini USA, the parts for the black driving lamps are status'ed as follows, according to MiniUSA:
63 12 0 417 885 - Driving Lights - Currently on backorder with no ETA of arrival in the U.S.
51 45 0 428 699 - Trim with switch (cream white) - currently on order, but no time frame on when this part will be available in the U.S
63 13 0 422 708 -Driving Lights Grill for JCW Aero Kit is available at this time
Sigh... something else to wait for. Thanks Mini. Someone should probably let the parts department know the '07s are out now, they can release the parts. (Talk to Sirius about that also, k? THAT situation is beyond frustrating... My 4-year-old aftermarket car stereo came Sirius ready, how hard can it be? (Don't answer that...))

Picked up my MINI this evening and wow, what a great feeling. Don't get to bummed out jmelrose, your day will come, and few will have as many options as yours, so it will be very unique. Everything went well, as far as the purchase, and I will post pics as soon as we have a sunny day to show it off at it's best. By the way, engine in mine was manufactured in Japan according to the window sticker, not that it really matters.
Jmelrose,
It's the specs are very similar to what you got.
DS/B 2007 MCS with auto transmisssion, Sat Nav, Redwood Lounge Leather, Hifi, I-pod adapter, chrome interior/exterior and chrome driving lamps, arm rest, convienice (sp) package, cold weather, all the packages pretty much except the JCW, but I did upgrade to the JCW 18" rims. (they had to order the wheels, but they will be in later this week). I need to put up pics, but it's snowing in Chicago right now!!!
Jmelrose, best of luck to you!
Pics to follow!

Update: Still at VDC. No estimate as to when it will ship out. My MA has been advised that it is "Taking a little longer than normal to get the MINI's through." Those of you who have gotten your cars in the past week after travelling aboard Golden Fan apparently dodged a bullet!
So the mystery is solved...
The holdup for my car has been solved! The culprit:
The liner for the glove box was left out, and a replacement is being shipped over from England.
I'll be over in a corner banging my head on a wall if anyone needs me. On the upside, at least they caught it. On the other hand, I can imagine somone going to put the owner's manual in it and realizing it looks not quite right. I'm not sure if it's attention to detail or lucky happenstance... after all, QC at the factory sure seems to have missed it. Oops.
So, my wait goes on for at least another week. Yay. This thread is not allowed to die until I get my car!!!

I am so excited for you and still can't wait to see the photos! What will be his/her name?

My MA told me earlier yesterday that my replacement keys had arrived and my Mini will be ready for pick up by Tuesday. Then at 11PM she change her mind and said my Mini is still "waiting to be released" and may not arrive until later
. My Mini has been sitting at the VDC for over 3 weeks and only explaination give was misplaced keys. THREE WEEKS TO REPLACE KEYS! I am really questioning rather there is something else wrong with the car at this point.
As Jmelrose says, I will probably die the day before the delivery just to delay more
I just sent my MA an e-nasty (she has been telling me "in a few days" for 3 weeks) should I do more?

Wow, and I thought MY experience wasn't going well.
My MA was able to tell me that the car is undamaged and all the work (the Aero Kit) to be done HAS been completed. He said his contact at the VDC seemed to think the part would be in early next week, and then it would be shipped after that. So it seems that they CAN find out for you if anything else is wrong, and the VDC needs to send a report along of anything done to the car, which you can ask to see once it arrives.
Other than expressing your frustration to the MA and the dealership management, I doubt there's much you can do to get the car to you any faster. And, to be honest, you don't want them to rush the quality of work they should be doing on it, but when it comes time to settle up, the quality of experience is not what you hoped for and it certainly is fair to share that, I think.
I can tell you that if *I* wait 3 weeks to get a replacement for the glovebox liner, I'll be beside myself, and don't blame you for being so. It's a tough wait. I first contacted the dealershuip about purchasing a Mini the first week of September, and started the "real" discussion Sept 17th... almost 7 months ago! Aside from building my house, I've never had such a wait, and with the house at least I could drive by and see what was or wasn't happening.
Adding to that, my already-sold (but still in my possession) Honda is wanted by the buyers, so they're getting tired of hearing "one more week" over and over again as well.
You'd think they'd have extra glovebox liners, or could take one off a car that's already in for repairs or something.
Anyway, I feel for ya Shadow. Hang in there. If you have the email forwarded from the regional manager, I'd definitely be at least cc'ing him/her on your frustration when you email your MA. That should light a fire.

I also placed my order and deposit back in September
It's really been a long wait which I have no problem with if it is due to production or shipping. But missing keys and now God knows for what reasons it's being delay again. I also have sold my car thinking it would work out fine with the expected delivery date but now I am borrow my parents spare car
I hate to have to involve so many people

Regarding the driving lights - I was told by my MA that they are available in chrome or black, but both come with white covers. I didn't have a problem with availability. I'm sorry to hear some of you are having such a time getting your MINIs. I would seriously FREAK OUT if it were me. Hang in there guys!!
