As I understand, the launch date for the 07s is Friday (2/16)?

How are they doing it?

I haven't heard a thing about a launch party at my local dealer (Roadshow MINI in Memphis). I've snooped around a little bit and don't see any 07s on their back lot or see where they could hide them anywhere else.

Perhaps some dealers don't have 07s yet?

 

My MA just emailed me that they just received a load of 07s. They should all be getting some this week.

 

The 17th is Saturday here in Michigan. Local store is having a party on the 22nd of March.

I was the dealership yesterday (its right down the block) and the MA there claimed that they had not received any '07's yet but he wasnt that convincing. He said he thought they would be there by this weekend. Im watching out my window for the trucks to arrive

 

I thought the launch was 2/17 (saturday)....
My dealer said that i will not be able to drive one on the 16th.

 

maybe it is on the 17th? i might be all mixed up.

 

My dealer says he'll have his demos late this week, or next Tuesday at the latest.

I am dying to see an R56 side-by-side with an R53 and drive the R56. I have an R56 on order, but this business about buying a car sight unseen is most unsettling. I need to make up my mind while there are still a few '06 cars around in colors/specs that I like.

This whole thing is making me nuts.

^ well, even though I don't like some of the design changes to the dash (i know, it's been rehashed many times) I am getting used to it and I'm getting excited just to see the car. doubtful I will get one anytime soon since my 06 is so new, but I wouldn't worry too much, Reelsmith, I think it is going to be a great car. the reviews of people driving them have been very favorable.

it's a MINI afterall and that makes it great to begin with.

 

I think its going to be a great car too and in pictures I actually prefer it to the R53 (I may be the only one ). I'll just feel better once I see it, drive it and all of my expectations have been met.

The R53 is a darn cool car ...its what got me so excited about ordering an R56 in the first place.

This has been a long time coming ...and I'm the nervous sort to begin with.

I am hoping to drive one too. I am also nervous (but excited) buying a car without even seeing it.

 

The official launch is the 17th. My dealership doesn't seem to be doing a sneek peak a day early (as far as my MA knows) and their launch party is next Month?!? That seems quite strange. It's the highest volume MINI dealership too.
Maybe they are planning a big bash in March, or someone forgot to arrange for the party.
I think it's up to the dealer as to what they do for the launch. MINIUSA may have suggestions and directives to not allow drives before a certain date, but I haven't heard for sure.

 

Roadshow had an ad in the newspaper about scheduling test drives. I thought it said starting 2/16 but I may be wrong. I drove through the lot on Sunday even though I knew they wouldn't have one out front - wishful thinking.


I do know that we might be taking an 07 to the St. Patrick's day parade in Hot Springs...

I've been meaning to drop by Roadshow to see what's going on, but haven't had a chance.

 

If our dealer already has R56's (and they do), then I'm sure just about every dealer does right now. They may be hiding them off the property, but they are there. We found ours hiding a couple blocks away on a holding lot.

 

I reaceived a call from a rep at South Bay Mini and he invited me to the New model launch and test drive this Saturday Feb 17. So I am assuming that all of the dealers will be getting the new Mini by then.. We shall see!!!!!!!!!!

New Country MINI in Hartford, CT is doing a launch party for MINI enthusiasts, and owners on Friday Night, February 16th at 7:00P.M. As of right now, there are 4 R56 MINIs being checked over, and prepped for the launch. More on the way allegedly.

One the of dealers in my area is having a release party on the 21st. I was told cars would be available to look at and test drive on the 19th. They wouldn't tell me if they have received any or when they would be receiving them. So, I'll just have to wait until Monday.
