Woohoo!!! So how long will the shipping wait be? You're lucky east coast should get theirs faster.

 

I have just recieved estimates at 3-4 weeks port to distribution center at the port of enry. I have tried to get an answer on when MINI will release the cars that are already here in the States or the cars which will be at the distribution center prior to the official MINI launch (feb 17th?) but it seems to be a question that does not have a answer at this point. MY guess is they will not release any prior to the official launch and that the orders that come in first relative to the order dates will get a call from the dealer first.

 

Hmm.. I think my dealer is having a release party feb 15th, so it is entirely certain my car COULD be there... Nice. I can hardly wait. Only a month or so. Getting so close, but time is moving so slow. hahahaha.

 

I'm in (or on) the same boat as you.
Waiting is tough but I really feel for anyone who ordered earlier.
I might have to go cold turkey on this site. I'm focusing on precieved "defects" too much and I gotta lighten up!

 

Dealer told me today that Mini is going to hold the cars at port until 2/18/07. I'm on the East Coast. Can tell you if he is correct or not, just relaying what he wrote today in an e-mail to me. -Pete

 

Launch is the 17th though...just doesn't sound right..

 

Thanks for the info Lava, just got through talking to my MA and he said my car is going to be in production next week, woohooo!!! I was biting my nails waiting for any news. Now I can track it with my production #. Best of luck to those getting their r56's soon. Can't wait to hear the news!

So if they are holding them at port until feb 18th it seems like we'll at least get to drive one on the 15th maybe?? Or does this imply I just get to look at it on the 15th? hahahaha. Damn... I really feel like I should have gone to NAIAS with my buddy to check out the car.

 

Just spoke to an Ask-Mini rep (i know i said i wasn't going to call ) and my 07 is week 4. A glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

 

At least you have light as I am in total darkness. Hopefully I will hear something from my MA today.

Ask-MINI just told me that production on my MCS started yesterday with a completion date of 1/18.

Finally some good news. That is the way to start the weekend!

 

Any new rumors on port release date?

 

Grrr...can't find my VIN on the WW site...it's been in awaiting transportion for 5 days now :(...

Not necessarily - you may be on a non-WW carrier. It has been known to happen.

 

Well I found out 1-14-07 my Cooper is now at the NJ Vehicle distribution center where I suspect it will remain for almost a month, so close but yet so far.......

 

My MC is in final assembly and quality control. Should be done tommorrow

 

bleh...still in 'awaiting transportation' :(

Sounds like we might bump into each other on delivery. Of course my 6 year old daughter, having just watched production videos of MINIs being born as part of a geography lesson, wants to go pick it up. She is excited that she got to help pick out the color and stripes. Helps that we have a toy MINI in the house from Christmas. Like mine, Chili Red with White roof and stripes. I imagine it also has Punch Black leather, red color line, 6 speed, DSC, LSD, sunroof, 17" wheels, and HiFi stereo. :-D

 

Good grief! MINE'S Chili Red with White roof and stripes! Guess they'll have to look inside to see who's whose!

Actually, we heard if there was enough interest we could get the QE 2. So far we've got a pretty good start on J deck...
